I was hungry after the pre fall tasting. Decor was really nice. Highlight was the dessert. Drinks were strong!
3.5 Stars. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff were very nice, friendly, and attentive. However the food was just okay. I got the $75 tasting menu and the portions were pretty small for the price you pay. But go try it for yourself and see! You might like the place!
Visited this place today. Two young chefs around 25 years old were working in the front. TBH, they don't understand nigiri. Really disappointed to the sushi rice. It has no taste, not warm, way too tight and there's no air in it. Like a piece of rice played and squeezed by a kid for 5mins. The chef choice I got in summer tasting menu($145) are plain fish without any topping. Salmon, yellowtail, 2 pieces of madai, tuna(not bluefin) , sweet shrimp, squid, scallop, and Tamago. The Fish are not fresh enough to consider "omakase". Stars for food displaying, service, and atmosphere. Sushi? ewww.
Ordered restaurant week menu, I don’t really mind the small portion of the food (as it’s designed to have a taste of the restaurant’s food), but the quality of the sushi is quite challenging, the rice just simply not right. And the fish can be fresher. The place is nice designed and decorated, but definitely some room for improvement on the food.
OMG... do you call this a restaurant? The NYC restaurant week 3-course menu brings me here but I only got a small eggshell dessert. The waiter was creepy because he was watching me when I paying he tips. I’m speechless. There is no difference with a burglary. Definitely file a complaint!
Horrible experience, probably the WORST and UNWORTHY Japanese restaurant I ever had in New York. We came and ordered the restaurant week menu, the portion was so small and the taste was also mediocre. Not only that, in the appetizer, there were 2 obvious and long fish bones there in the cod. The portion is so small I could have swallowed it. We told the waiter and he said he'll tell the chef. And then we never heard anything from them. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Avoid at all cost Would not recommend. Correct me if I’m wrong. What Japanese restaurant would serve Omakase and would put wasabi and soy souce on the side. I think it’s an insult to do that. Never had that. Their $68 omakase turned into $250 bill for 2. The whole experience was not enjoyable. They serve 8 pieces strait to you table. The fish was bland. The best part ware the drinks and the tea. Would not recommend it unless you want to get a drink.
Went for date night. Phenomenal service, food, and drinks at a reasonable price. Got the omakase with some caviar supplement (I forget if it was over wagyu or fatty tuna, either of which are awesome). Everything was good and one of the bartenders kept bringing us “palette cleansers” aka random shots hahaa. I didn’t get a chance to try their sushi pieces but the table next to us got it and it looked really good.
