ICHIRAN Ramen NY Times Square

My favorite ramen shop in the USA. Flavor is unmatched anywhere. You are seated in private booths, so it's especially great dining alone. There is minimal human interaction, so it's a unique experience you really won't see in any other place. They also do offer a vegetarian ramen, but I am not sure how it is. If you are looking for a great ramen shop in NYC, definitely visit ICHIRAN!

Pricey, but the quality of the broth and overall ramen experience is certainly worth a stop. Ichiran’s unique features include its individual booths which means interaction between other dinners and the kitchen staff is quite limited. Making it ideal for solo diners and not ideal for couples and especially not groups of more than 2 people. Ichiran operates off a tip-free model which I believe is how restaurants operate in Japan. That’s not to say it’s cheap however. The basic ramen bowl will cost you almost $25, and over $30 if you want all the add-ins. There are two locations across Manhattan but I would expect there to be a line at both during popular dining times. I personally waited about 10 minutes to get seated on a Saturday afternoon. The service was somewhat slow and waited about 10-15 minutes after sitting to be served my food. This is likely given the volume of customers, but still, considering they only serve ramen and the soup is already prepared, I’m not sure what would causing the hold up.

This was one of the coolest places. Such a fun eating experience. By far the best ramen. We love ramen and are always trying new places in different cities and states. This is superior to all. The broth was more gelatinous than others. It wasn’t fake and salty. The noodles had a perfect consistency. All the other elements were just perfect. Enjoy!

Amazing food, went back the next night and had The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen both times. So good!

Best place to lost money and eat Bad food

The chashu was so good that my friend and I cannot stop thinking about it. Also love how casual + minimal human interaction this place is.

Lined up even early dinner 4-5 pm Sat. Perhaps 30-45 mins, or weekday minimal wait then. Unique experience! Booth seating with many hooks for coats and bags. Ramen with recommended toppings was the popular option. Here there is much customization, from dashi, noodle soft to firm, spicy... Though let Tonkotsu Ramen was great and aligned to the price and location. Downside was the egg ... Was explained that need to crack and peel the eggshell, and was not a soy sauce marinated egg like some higher end ramen meals. Still a good choice for visiting in cold weather unique dining experience.
