We arrived here when it was not busy at about 3. I saw one other table occupied. We sat in a booth. We ordered about 5 rolls, 2 bottles of Saki and some dessert. First the atmosphere was kinda dank and dark as if they did not want you to see the dirt. The air felt musty like they did not want to run the air but there was not enough adequate airflow in general. We waited quite a while to be visited by a waitress given the low volume of people. The rolls took about 30 minutes to come out, guess there was probably only one chef. This was not a big deal since we were enjoying the Saki. When the sushi arrived it was good it just wasn't great or memorable. I would probably not visit here again next time I am in town. Really the overall experience was 3 stars. Parking: There is a big lot in front of the building. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is flat and easy to access from the parking lot.
Our go to sushi spot in Austin. Always good, reasonably priced, and reliable. They even have booths to mimic seating on a Japanese floor. Vegetarian options: Cucumber roll, agedashi tofu, miso soup, edamame vegetable tempura, and more Parking: When busy can be hard to find parking. May be able to park in lots next door, but not sure of towing policy. Entrance to parking lot is narrow and easy to miss. Kid-friendliness: The booths are more kid friendly for those with toddlers bc they can semi-walk around inside them without bothering other guests. You can also fit infant car seats comfortably inside and tucked out of the way. But you are required to take off your shoes for the booths
Consider updating the reservations section of your website to say you don't allow reservations for 2 people. Wasted my time trying to make a reservation to try a new restaurant. Theres other sushi restaurants in Austin.
Average food, not bad, just ok, good variety to choose from, nice ambience.
The sushi is always so fresh and the jjampong is a must try.
