Oh, I would eat here in a heartbeat. I was reminded of a memorable Tuscan dinner cooked by our hosts in the countryside. Fried artichokes, fried sage leaves, and elderflower fritters. Antipasto of roast peppers. Veal satimbocca (o.k. its origins are Roman). Salad of field greens. Panna cotta. Then homemade liqueurs. Delicious & anything but austere. "Noise Level: There's music, but it's so soft you probably won't hear it. The room is only as loud as the conversations around you." So you can taste more sensitively, converse more comfortably, and relax more deeply.
Food is standard. Service is horrible. Gave a formal complaint regarding timing of food to the bald “manager”, response was that he thought the timing was reasonable despite the 1.5 hour wait for entrees. Go to the other 10 better Italian restaurants around the corner. Surprised about the hype. Avoid.
The service and food were quite disappointing overall; the only redeeming aspect was the lasagna.
Best pasta in the US. Hands down. Nothing even comes close.
Excellent. Best lasagna put there
Best Italian restaurant in NYC. Spectacular ambience and service. Pasta was out of this world (tagliatelle with caramelized onions and chestnut ricotta tortellini). Roasted carrot side special was another star of the show. Best vanilla panna cotta I've ever had.
Fantastic food. Go at opening, put your name on the list and grab a drink nearby while you wait.
