TL;DR version: Superbowl Sunday, they prepared and gave wrong pizzas. They confirmed they messed up, gave wrong order. Promised new pizzas. After 45 minutes, called back and said not gonna deliver. No manager working (on Superbowl Sunday!). Call back tomorrow. After lots of call backs, manager basically blamed us, for their mistake. Asked if we still had the mistaken pizzas, after their employee told us to just trash them the night before (the pizzas were not just wrong, they were inedible). You would think they would not only refund the order, but also give discount on future order. They did NOTHING, other than a verbal "we'll give you 20% off one pizza in the future." ------- Full version: Superbowl party. Trying to save them a trip, even though we're less than 2 miles away, had a friend pick up the pizzas. We ordered 3 pizzas plus a pizza bowl. Big order, and left a generous 20% tip anyway. "Are these the right pizzas?" friend asked. They assured it was, they were swamped, pizzas got brought over. Open pizzas, and they're not even really pizzas. Everything about them were wrong, to the point where they were literally inedible. Call them and sit on hold for over 30 minutes. First employee was rude, cussed at us and hung up (note we had barely even gotten the problem out). Call back again, another 25-30 minute wait, a better employee knew the issue, they admitted they gave us the wrong order, wrong pizzas. At first, they wanted us to pick it up. Which was impossible at that point, party was already in progress, with hungry people waiting. They wanted an extra delivery fee, told them we'll give the guy a nice tip (though we didn't need to). "Can you give us the old pizzas back?" "Sure, but 1 slice was taken already, are you sure you want these back?" "No, you're right, throw them out, we'll have your new pies made and delivered." 45 minutes more go by, we're close to halftime now. They call back, "We will not deliver your pizzas." Keep in mind, we've been waiting now nearly 2 hours. Find out later that they didn't even bother making the pizzas they promised us, and used some excuse that we're too far. We're 1.8 miles away. They delivery to our neighborhood literally every night. "Can I speak to a manager, just refund the money." "Sorry, no manager on duty, call tomorrow." Call tomorrow, get the runaround a bit. Finally get a hold of the manager, he tells us there's nothing he can do because we didn't keep the pizzas that were wrong. "Your employee told us to throw them away, they were inedible, I have 8 witnesses here and no one touched the damn things." Make us wait again, he apparently calls the owner, who offered us a verbal "20% off one pizza next time you order." Note, even the manager admitted that they knew they messed up the order. Call Hungry Howie's corporate. They inform us these stores are all franchised out, and apparently, there is no complaint department, there is no regional franchise manager. Nothing. You know what, keep the $80 or so. I don't need your 20% discount on ONE pizza (oooh, $4 discount for giving us $80 worth of wrong food and ruining a party?) If I could give this place -10 stars, it would be too generous. The store is pretty filthy, but at least the pizzas used to be good and service decent. But this last experience has caused me, at honestly all of my friends to forever boycott this franchise. And a few of my friends had started to use HH's for pizza, but every one has now stopped. I hope my $80 is worth losing 5 or 6 long time customers. And hopefully people who read these reviews will think twice before ordering. Honestly worst restaurant experience I have had in years.
