Hummus Bay

Best bowl in town. Fresh cut shawarma (chicken or beef), fab housemate Mediterranean toppings. There are so many sauces that it's hard to decide. Must try!

I love trying new Mediterranean food as I travel, so when I saw Hummus Bay, I was excited to try it. Service and portions were great and huge. The food was overall phenomenal, I think the best hummus I’ve ever had actually. Why only 4 stars? I go to Mediterranean food places for the baba ghanoush, and Hummus Bay’s baba is terrible! Some decent seasoning of it would have made a huge difference, but as it was, it was inedible. I’ve never ordered baba from somewhere and it been so bad I wouldn’t eat it. The chicken, toppings, rice and hummus - all wonderful, but they need to fix their baba recipe.

Wednesday night. Google said open until 9pm. Drove all the way there, all the lights were on and bright signs saying open. I walked in at 8:44pm and they would not take my order, stated they were closed. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back.

Against my better judgment, I decided to give this restaurant one more chance. Last time I ordered takeout in the store and had to ask for a refund because it took such an enormous amount of time. This time I decided to order online to prevent the extensive wait time. I ordered my food and arrived at the restaurant 25 minutes after ordering. There was only one family in the restaurant and they were having a conversation with the cashier about how their food had been messed up. I gave the woman at the cashier my name, and she told me that it would be approximately 15 minutes while yelling back to the chef what my order was and telling him what to cook. That’s when I realize they hadn’t even started cooking my food yet. Despite it being ordered 25 minutes ago. Considering how long the food took when I ordered it in the restaurant on my previous visit, I was not prepared to wait again, and after confirming that they had not yet started my order, I asked for a refund. I would have been more understanding if the restaurant was packed and it was clear that they were incredibly busy, but it was completely dead inside and there was only one take out bag sitting waiting for customer pick up. This place is grab and go wraps, sandwiches bowls. The wait times are ridiculous and apparently you can’t even place a takeout order and have the food be cooked before you arrive. It’s ridiculous. This is three times now that we’ve had a horrible experience trying to eat food from this restaurant. Horrible customer service - don’t even bother trying the food here. I haven’t been able to because they can’t seem to cook anything in a timely manner. Asking customers to wait 25 minutes plus an additional 15 minutes once they get to the restaurant for takeout order is 40 minutes for takeout bowls. Crazy. Last chance I will never come back here.

Should be impossible for a shawarma, but my chicken shawarma was bland. It's fine overall as just a wtap, but if you're looking for legit Mediterranean food or specifically a shawarma, you're better off finding local small business/ family run spot.

Very solid chicken shawarma. Great reviews are well deserved. A little pricy but everywhere is nowadays
