My husband and I came here as it is close to our hotel. He ordered the pork rib noodle soup and I got the sirloin beef noodle soup along with pork spare ribs with sauce as an appetizer. It was later in the evening so we skipped the spicy. The food was absolutely delightful! The pork rib appetizer was very tender and succulent; meat fell right off the bone! The broth and noodles were the same in both soups that came with a boiled quail egg and a couple of buk choy leaves, but obviously the meats were different. I loved my soup as it was simple yet fulfilling, like comfort food but more exciting. The beef was flavorful and blended well with the rest of the soup fixings. The broth had a little bit of a zing to it still but that also helped take it up a level, so I loved it. Staff is friendly and it wasn't busy so the staff was tentative and we never saw the bottom of our cups. Overall, we are very happy with our experience and we would very much enjoy coming here again on our next trip.
Food is very authentic home style Chinese food. Delicious! Has a couple vegetarian options. Remember to bring cash if you can, but they are also now taking card. Picture menu if you don’t speak Chinese. Outdoor or indoor seating. Nice and cozy. Vegetarian options: Tomato egg noodle. Vegetarian fried rice/noodles. Can ask for tofu substitute.
THIS IS THE BEST STREET NOODLE PLACE 10/10
Damn good. Flavor is unbeatable. Perfect spice. Street noodle soup!
So rare to find a noodle joint that makes their noodles fresh. Spiciness of the soup base was the perfect level. I come here every time I go to Oakland.
The food is great. I had the street noodles. The noodle could have been cooked more in my opinion but i still enjoyed the dish. The broth is what made it for me. I will say I was bit disappointed by the atmosphere and cleanliness of dining space. Un bussed dishes were stacked on a cart in the dining area along with random food items cluttered on a table by the soda machine. I ate outside on the patio which was much nicer and cleaner. The servers weren't the most welcoming. They were really shot with me when I asked questions. The food came quickly but the server quickly rushed all the items on my table I dropped my spoon she gave it so fast. I was the only one there so there was no rush unless they have a bunch of to go orders which I understand but still. I will order to go if I ever eat from here again.
It's interesting to start off by reading the one star reviews. Half complained the noodles were undercooked and have complained they were overcooked. If you're used to eating Top-Ramen, you have bent expectations. This is also not high-end dining @ $13.95 for most dishes. Only thing that I didn't like was the pork ribs - everyone else ate them up so that's on me. Vegetarian options: Several tofu dishes plus garlic green beans. I think you could get any dish without meat. I'm not sure if you can get it without MSG
I had the chongqing street noodles. I negotiated down to mild spice, which was manageable and delicious for me. The noodles were fresh. The broth was incredible. The service was friendly. Highly recommend.
