My number 1 hot pot spot! I have been here several times and my friends and I still keep going there! It is usually empty at noon/lunch and you basically have the place yourself. It gets busier in the late afternoon to around 7 PM. It is around $27 per person but comes with unlimited meat, veggies, and soup mix. ALL YOU CAN EAT! You have to pay for the drinks. We usually get the best of both worlds soup and it is a mixture of the original and spicy soup. I love to add their thinly sliced marbled beef, mussels, shrimps (fresh!), fish and shrimp balls, quail eggs, napa cabbage, and bokchoy! I also never forget to order the amazing cucumber salad and the delicious fried bun. We mix our sauce the way the like it and usually consist of garlic, soysauce, chili, and chives. I would surely recommend this place.
"Restaurant" is a room attached to a Mexican restaurant. (Credit card statement will say Maria's.) I've been to other hotpot locations around Chicagoland that were both better quality and cheaper. High prices/required gratuity/TERRIBLE service. When we arrived we asked the waitress to explain to us the process of ordering and they could not explain it. (I think it may have been language barrier.) They often ignored us when we requested additional portions for the all you can eat. Bizarre and expensive experience.
Update: We really enjoy this place and frequent it often. The owner and all the staff recognize us. We have come to accept the menu and broth. But, we still like to add garlic to the broth to add flavor. We really enjoy this place. We visit often. We miss the old menu choices they had and the seasoning they use to have in the broth. We have to season it ourselves at the table with stuff from the sauce bar. Plus, we miss the old cheaper bottles of wine. A year or two ago, I would have gave it a 6 star rating!
I’ve had hotpot at other places that was wayyy better than this. The selection is small. The self serve station was very small for sauces and such. It was also super pricey. The option to have more flavor wasn’t really there. We were also rushed once the kitchen had final call. It was an okay experience but I wouldn’t go again. The fried buns were really good though.
Casual, little restaurant attached to a Maria's Mexican Bar & Grill. We had the original bone broth with raw shrimp (in shell), chicken, broccoli & and ramen, and my husband had a margarita. All in all, it's a lighter meal. We both thought the food and experience were okay. Our bill already had a 15% gratuity pre-added, yet it had a box to "Add Tips," which if you're not checking the details, you could possibly over-tip. As of 1/21/24, our bill was $59.61. Go for a different experience, average food. Parking: Outdoor strip mall parking.
For this price better go to Happy Lamb!
price is ok. But this restaurant auto charge tips over 2 people … there is notice on menu. But really not easy to see . The words size really small. And during check out time. Nobody mention the tips already included. So I was stupid to leave another 20% tips.
