Hong Kong Diner

I started with the Hot & Sour soup, followed by General Tso's chicken and white rice. I must applaud their portion sizes here. The soup was ok and left no lasting impression apart from containing a pork-like mystery meat. The chicken appeared to be an overcooked, heavy batter but this was not the case. It was fine. I found the sauce to be in line with other similar lower budget, lower quality Chinese places. Interestingly, the total bill was over $24.00 and right at $30.00 after a 20% tip, which feels excessive to me.

While picking up an order for Doordash, the lady working here told me to come back when I could eat because I'm too skinny!! In a funny, friendly way. Clean restaurant, always smells amazing, freshly prepared meals for decent cost, and I'm obviously a fan of the staff. Haha. Our son goes to eat here often. Nice little spot for a bite.

You get enough food, for two serving at one price

I gotta warn people, I just had one of the most god awful dishes I ever had at a Chinese restaurant. Do not EVER get the Sesame Beef here at Hong King Diner. The beef is tough, but worse is this thick battered coating that is on every piece. Properly done, this coating is supposed to be a light coating adding just a little texture to the beef, but here is like a freakin CORN DOG! Little meat inside surrounded by thick batter ... NOT GOOD! I took pics to show. The other dish that is not so good is the Mongolian Beef, way too soy saucy and too many onions. Don't get the Mongolian Beef! The egg rolls are too greasy and fat, skip the egg rolls! see the pics. They still have some good stuff here, like the General Chicken that doesn't have a thick corn dog like batter on it. It's thin and uses real cut up chicken, not those frozen nuggets in a bag mast places use. You just gotta know what to order here and the Mongolian Beef and Sesame Beef are NOT the food to order!

Young employee wiped h÷r nose with gloves on didn't take glo:ves off and wash her hands. Need better training.!!

I Use to come here 2-3 times a week because I worked near by, but the last time I order was the Chef crispy wings and it was rancid with the meat tasting odd and wasn't crispy but leathery. With that being said. The owner/chef can care less about the quality of the food he pushes out from the kitchen. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! this place is also very dirty!

Not sure if the orange chicken is fresh due to a stomach ache. Inconsistency in cooking the food quality seems to be up and down. Found a piece of raw pork in my shrimp and broccoli plate.
