First time here friendly people fish is fresh will have to come back and check out other items in menu
I found this amazing little Japanese sushi restaurant and they had Hamachi Kama my favorite, it's the fish cheek grilled and so yummy! The service was great, I sat at the sushi bar and they talked me into some grilled eel sashimi, and provided great conversations. Definitely will go back if I'm ever in the area!
Best sushi in Sac, hands down. Excellent menu, quality, presentation, and taste. Most pleasant dining experience I have had in a long time.
Had a very nice meal at Hito Yatai. First time since it opened. Always on a search for a good sushi bar with a selection of fish and a more traditional style of nigiri and fewer rolls. Edo style. We were pleasantly surprised to find chef Cam(spelling) very skilled and capable as well as the kitchen chef. The style and selection were ambitious and varied, which is hard to find in Sacramento outside of a couple of top rated establishments. The chef was very creative and accommodating, serving our personal favorites, which are hard to find in Sacramento. We over ordered, but didn't mind, as the food was delicious! A fine replacement of the old Shire Sushi. A big 'notch above'! We hope they are successful in their venture and wish them many years of good business.
Authentic Japanese food and the owners are very kind and welcoming. Love it.
The place is fairly small and there are only a few staff, so it makes for a very leisurely meal. But I’ll keep going back because it’s some of the best Japanese food in the area, it’s worth the time and money! They have seasonal fish options for sushi that you cannot get anywhere else.
