His Place Eatery - Chicken & Waffles, BBQ & Soul food

We came here during All Star weekend after seeing good reviews and told by Uber drivers this place was good. It was crowded either bc of how good the food is or bc All Star weekend, but their service is so good we didn’t wait longer than 10 mins. I’m born and raised in the south on southern food. The fried chicken here and banana pudding is as good as anywhere you’ll find in the south. The green beans were tasty too. Yams/Mac/Greens/Cornbread were ok. I’d come here again.

Three of us had meals wings, mac n cheese and yams; perch, green beans, mac n cheese; cat fish, man n cheese and Cole slaw. We were all disappointed about the meal. Mac n cheese seems as if it was made with sour milk, green beans were poured straight from the can. The perch and cat fish was good. Needless to say the three of us will never go back again. This was the second time for me the food wasn’t good but I wanted to try them again and was disappointed again.

This visit was amazing, the customer service is so much better, and the portion size is worth the money. If you're gonna charge make sure it's worth it, you guys did great, keep it This way, and I'll continue to be a loyal customer..

Best soul food restaurant I've been to in town. Love love love the candied sweet potatoes, probably my fav item on the menu. Tho all the sides are amazing. And the fried chicken Please try if you haven't been here yet, I'd always seen it driving by but didn't give it a shot til somewhat recently. I was def missing out! Vegetarian options: Many of the sides are vegetarian friendly, I believe. They offer a veggie plate entree that includes 3 sides of your choice, which I personally order pretty often.

Good good food. Big ol chicken wings and waffles. I mean big big portions. Yummy

I'm not saying the food is absolutely horrible, but this was my first time eating here and in my opinion, the food was completely overpriced for it to be so mediocre

Came back to Indy for my mom's 80th Birthday. Came to His Place Eatery to eat. This place is a hidden gem. A whole in the wall place. 8 of us for dinner. Dinner was OUTSTANDING!! We all had something different and not one complaint. Food was served hot and homemade. We had at least 1 picky person in our party. He was the first person done and said he would be back. It was that good. Tracy H. our server was on it. All drinks stayed filled and no wait. Place was nice and extra clean including the restrooms. As most of my family still lives in Indy. They all said they would become regulars. Next time I go back to Indianapolis this is the first place I am going to eat. Nicely done to the owners of His Place Eatery.
