Food and service was amazing. Only negative is the dark Street corner and entrance
Awesome spot! Go for happy hour. Great atmosphere but the sushi wasn’t something to write home about.
What an awesome find! We were there for happy hour and the food and drinks were amazing! Such flavorful dishes! Every bite was an umami bomb in the best possible way...it was very memorable. We had an assortment of several small plates and maki rolls. Lamb gyoza and miso butter mushrooms were my favorites, with honorable mention to the karaage chicken and the wagyu sliders. And the cocktails were delicious as well: ume fashioned and the high ball were perfect. And whoever designed the ceiling did a great job: looks amazing. We will definitely be back!
Tried the lower floor. Sushi rice was overly firm (probably left out too long) and made up a majority of the roll. Karaage was underspiced and mostly consisted of batter. Atmosphere was alright, service was okay. Happy hour prices were good, although charging $20 for 5 gyoza during regular hours is insanity. Overall, just very inauthentic food for people who want Japanese food without Japanese flavors.
Awesome place, I can’t wait to go back. The happy menu kills it. The drinks exceptional and service a “10” Try the Wagu sliders and lamb goyza.
Best date night we’ve had in Chicago in a long time. We’ve lived in the city for over 15 years and have seen a ton of places come and go, and this place is great. Service, atmosphere, quality of food - all solid. Can’t wait to make this our new regular spot. And come back and try the Omakase!
The omakase was amazing. The sushi was excellent, the staff were amazing and very nice, and it was a lot of fun getting to discuss each dish with the chef as he made them. Their sake selection was large and the staff was very knowledgeable about each one. They also had excellent cocktails that worked very well with the sushi. I highly recommend this place.
