I try to stay away from Higgins, having had bad meals in the past. Last night I had no choice as others selected the location. I did not expect much so I only ordered the cabbage salad (tasteless) and two choices from the charcuterie menu (both skimpy). And this coming from a guy that did not want to eat a lot as it was late. We ate in the bar. The two other people said the burger was okay, although the bun seemed stale. Their small salads were barely dressed and when additional tasteless dressing was brought to the table it did not help. One person only drinks sparkling wine and I heard afterward that it was of low quality and she said not good. Higgins must be coasting on their reputation from decades ago.
Wait staff: excellent Nice settings. Food: expensive and decent. Paid over $30 for a pasta dish. They had good expensive mocktails. The wines by the glass selection were limited.
Not great, wouldn’t go again. Had the risotto and roasted beets. Veggies in risotto were hard almost raw leaving a hard crunch throughout the plate. Same issue with the roasted beets. Were not roasted, not hot, hard to bite into. Odd the beets were served with ricotta instead of goat cheese but the main issue is it was simply not cooked. Bread pudding dessert was tasty but again not served hot.
Excellent food and great customer service.
This restaurant has very professional service, and a couple spacious dining rooms. The food was good but very meat centric. The steak was excellent. Overall a very limited menu. No fresh fish option although they did have shellfish mains and appetizers. The cocktail was tasty but not very strong. Prices are high.
For many years, we keep passing by this nice restaurant on the way to 26. Finally, I opted to dine here to try it out. We enjoyed our evening here. The charcuterie, mussels & steak are very good. And glad they have Belgian beer on tap! Definitely on my in list to come back.
Phenomenal. Highly recommend.
