Nice bar to watch games, but the Guinness was pretty poor for a pub with pictures of Guinness everywhere

As we approached, there was VERY loud live music coming from within, it sounded like a full-on rock band was playing but turned out to be just one person making all that noise. So we decided to sit on the patio yet it was still difficult to hear what my friend was saying directly across the table from me. We weren't aware that it was open mic night until our waitress came out to greet us, which she did very promptly. I must say that our waitress was just the best. I wish I had caught her name. She was very friendly and personable. Even more impressive was that she was extremely knowledgeable about, not just the food served at Hennessey's, but of food in general, even ethnic dishes. She was very helpful when it came for me to decide which beer to order. But when it came time to order our meal, she informed me that the restaurant was out of the main item for my entree, so I had to order something other than what I wanted most. But that was ok, I'm not too picky and it was already like after 9pm. The food came rather quickly and was quite delicious. Somehow the subject of wasabi was brought up and before I knew it, even though Hennessey's is an Irish place, she was able to produce a big ball of wasabi. Much more than any sushi restaurant would give you. I forgot to mention that the very loud live music toned way down after about 5 minutes when the next performer took the open mic stage. And the volume level remained lower the rest of the night. Overall, I had a rather enjoyable dining experience and I think it was our waitress more than anything that made it that way.
