3rd trip:Saturday we hosted our friends and kept our plans to have lunch at Hawkers. It was a warm afternoon and people were on the patio. To my surprise there was no wait this time. We sat in the same seats, ordered specialty drinks proceeded to order as we read.Random: I love the bathroom wall and never remember to take a picture. The music is always entertaining as well, its a great environment, doesn't feel rushed and has a bar. Only downside was there were no donuts or rolls (again) this trip since they were out. (Do they make their rolls or?) No biggie. We did receive complimentary coconut 🍤 & we're shrimp lovers. My friend tried probably 4 diff craft beers w/ the waitress' help, it was appreciated. We had the pork belly Baos, always good. And the twice fried wings minus the nuts. No allergies, I just didn't want combination & they were able to. They were delicious! We also ordered Roti Canai - never had it, we loved it! Char sui - I really want some more right now. My friends split the basil fried rice. I admit I wanted some but it was gone lol.Tom Yum was the best broth I've had anywhere in a while. We ordered 2, there's so many veggies. It was perfect. The Hokkien Mee - we get it everytime, saucy and tasty. And this time I remembered to copy and paste the name, our fave item as entree is Chee Cheng’s Char Kway Teow. Its a must have. *proceeds to update stars* thanks!2nd trip: We arrive again on a Saturday the last weekend of feb. We play connect 4 since we wanted to show our friends this lovely place we found. We ordered and prepared to dine, all in all it took an hour to receive any of the appetizers we orders. Some longer than others. We ordered a lil of everything like before. But when our rolls arrive (the clear ones) 2 of 4 had wooden skewers in them. The kind that go in the Baos. We weren't too bothered as we found them while eating but then again for the amount of money per item..kinda dampered the evening. It was taken off our bill but this occurred before the last part of the meal so at this point we just hoped for the best. My friends won't be back but unfortunately Ive already made plans with other friends to come back so..here's to hoping it goes well..1st trip: Best restaurant we tried in a long time. Staff was super friendly. The menu was easy to read and had a mobile version. We had a 15min wait but once we were texted we were seated. We had time to look at the menu before. There's music playing and dividers setup. You can see the kitchen snd everything. Its very..social. Food arrives as it is completed, which we loved. We tried so many items. Seriously like 7 or more including drinks. We had pork belly baos..fried rolls, coconut shrimp, dumplings, 2 types of noodles and donuts.Oh and 2 alcoholic drinks. No pressure to order or to leave. I really liked this place. Park next door.

3.5 stars. Good small plates. Cocktails were good - had the OG Pain Killer and Margari-Thai. Got the PO PO Lo's curry and it was pretty disappointing. I also didn't love the atmosphere - loud music inside. The outdoor seating looked lovely though.

A beautiful place, ambience is innovative i like it. Good service. Food is good, but honestly i tried better. It is not bad, just.... I tried better. Some of the dishes were a little, burned? Or over cooked maybe, in general great service. You have to try once. Again not bad. But there are better places woth better flavor.

3.5 realistically, but the vibe made me put 4.I finally made my way here after meaning to come since I first saw it open. I used to frequent the previous establishment but sadly they never reopened. Needless to say it's a completely different place and vibe. Well laid out, and certainly fitting in the hip East Nashville area. It deserves a visit, and your experience will hopefully be a good one. Unlike a previous reviewer I think the portions are fine for the cost and TBH as Americans we have got to stop wanting such large portions. I was happy to see reasonable portions at a good price, it made me glad I stopped in. I will admit I was hoping for some more spice and flavor in the dishes, but I realize that nashvillains and tourists are unable to handle any sort of heat. I know there is Nashville hot chicken and it can get extremely hot, but even that is weakened at most places that serve it. Overall I can recommend this place, and most will love it hands down.

4 star food, 1 star covid protocols. I picked up takeout for my family, and if this was 2019 I would have said “good, but not great, food at fair prices. Portions smaller than what you’re used to at Asian restaurants.” But, this is not 2019, it’s 2020 and having decent food at fair prices is not enough. Restaurants have a responsibility to protect their customers and staff, and Hawkers falls short here. Thankfully, I was in and out in a few minutes, but it was not a safe environment. It was the most crowded restaurant that I’ve seen since March. Every single table was picked, and they were not spaced 6 feet apart, inside or out. People were waiting for tables inside and outside, some also without masks. Thankfully, employees were masked, but the restaurant was far too crowded to be safe.

3 stars only for excellent customer service. Ambience was also very good, but food fell flat. Had the Hokkien Mee and it honestly tasted like something I could get at any Chinese takeout place for cheaper. Appetizers (bao and char siu) were a little better. Was not worth the 30 minute wait for a table.

"I know you can be overwhelmed and you can be underwhelmed but, can you ever just be whelmed?" -10 things I hate about you. That quote perfectly captures how I felt about this place. We were super excited for this option to come to our neighborhood but unfortunately it did not deliver. The server was wonderful but the service itself was lacking. I understand it's a new restaurant but the drinks from the bar were delivered on a significant delay- we had 2 course before we even got our cocktails. When the drinks and food don't flow synergistically, it truly hinders the dining experience. As for the cocktails themselves, good quality but slightly overpriced- they really need to step it up and have a happy hour. The food itself is the reason for the lack of stars. Possibly a TMI moment but, we all had bubble guts the next day and regretted our overzealous ordering. First off, this is definitely not authentic Asians street food- it Americanized and not necessarily in a good way. We had the summer rolls- classic and a good option, but honestly how can you mess up a summer roll? Chicken dumplings- fine. Tom yum- needed more seasoning, we added the fish sauce from the spice try. Tip: get the spice tray because your for sure going to need it. The twice fried Korean wings seem to be what people come for; it's basically a sticky and sweet sesame chicken dish. Lastly, the beef kimchi fried rice; wayyyy too salty and highly recommend avoiding. Nothing about this place was crave-able but, the atmosphere is cool and I'm sure it'll continue to be go to for tourist.

$11 noodle dish worth $1. No flavor. Wings for $9. Umami wings twice as much for the same price and much meatier. Will never go back
