We went on a Saturday and the weather was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was good. We stumbled upon this place, and I am so glad we ate here. Having live music on the lawn was pretty cool.
Poor service, they don't check on you or what you need. After you pay for your food they drop it off to where you are sitting and then you're on your own. You have to get back in line , if there's a line, I had to get back up 3 times and wait your turn again to ask for things like : a glass of water , napkins, condiments. I also didn't like how little they cared about my dogs, it said dog friendly online , they have signs they are too and when I asked for 3 dog patties , 3 dogs, we got one bowl to share between them .No water, had to get up and ask them for water, waited in line again, then the cashier handed me a dirty bowl and instructed me to get water from a spout for my dogs. I asked for a clean bowl and if I'm getting water for myself why can't my dogs get the same water. She said that it is the same water but she only filled my drink not my dogs. Food was also pricy, if you expect me to pay 18 to 25 dollars a meal (or higher depending on what you order), you should be offering quality customer service for patron retention and more then a medium cup size drink with no refills. We will not be coming back. Horrible , horrible service.
Que lugar más rico para desayunar. Los desayunos son inmensos, muy pero muy grandes. Con un sabor rico y muy completos. El servicio muy amable y rápido. Y la zona donde está ubicado es un paraíso del surf.
Amazing views of the harbor, and fun tables with small fire pits. Service was excellent and friendly, even with the lunch rush. Clam chowder was one of the best I've ever had.
Laidback, attentive service, and comforting food with a great view of the harbor.
One of those places where you go, sit down, interact with the server (the woman, behind the man, behind the restaurant), get your food, relax, absorb the ambiance, and think "this place is great..." I must admit that I purposely don't review spots-so-good-that-I-want-to-keep-to-myself... but small businesses are the exception. Great spot, with great food, run by great people.
Harbor Cove Café is located at the northernmost point of Harbor Village, city of Ventura, and is something of a old style shack with a kitchen which is not continuous with the enclosed dining area. There is ample outdoor seating when it’s cold outside. The menu on the Internet appears generous, but it really is limited to omelettes and burritos, and the choice of menu items is more extensive than what is literally available at the restaurant site. The seafood burrito is excellent, but costly, and we had two of those, but did not try anything else on the menu. The food alone gets a solid B+. The ambience is typical rustic waterside Café style, which during nice weather is wonderful, and during cold weather, is almost inhospitable, through no fault of the management. Personally, I think there are better breakfast and lunch choices within Ventura Harbor Village, but I never been to this café and it had some very favorable reviews. Overall, it disappoints slightly, because the menu choices are fairly narrow in the cost factor is fairly high. There are other more reasonable choices within Harbor Village, just moments to the south and east.
