Drunken Fish sushi (Hara Sushi)

I noticed yesterday thar Hara sushi was changed to Drunken fish. The fish is fresher, and the cherry blossoms in the dining area are absolutely stunning. I feel like I've experienced a new sushi restaurant that is many times better than before.

I thought we were ordering from Hara, but apparently they are under new ownership. Since I've never been there, I ordered Salmon, Yellowtail & Ankimo just to sample their sushi. I will admit I'm a sushi snob, but it's extremely difficult to go wrong with Salmon, in LA!!! The salmon was stringy & tough to bite through. The yellowtail was the same. The ankimo smelled old & the seaweed around it was also wilted and tough to chew. I'm so extremely disappointed and expected more...maybe because of their prices alone. I was so grossed out by the quality of the fish that I don't think I can ever give them another chance. Even at some cheaper and low end sushi spots, I don't think I've ever had such bad cuts of fish. In addition, they told us they didn't have lunch specials when we ordered before 2pm. Not sure who ends their lunch specials before 2, but they also have their happy hour between 2-5, which is odd for anyone who works any kind of regular 9-5 job. Their atmosphere is ok I guess, but their prices are high & they didn't even provide ginger or wasabi with my sushi.

Ive always love Hara’s. E we’ve been there this weekend and figure it out that the meno was different. They changed management but food still delicious.

This is no longer hara sushi. They have rebranded under nee management and it's not quite the same as it once was. Still not a bad spot, just not as good. We ordered yellowtail sashimi twice. The first order was superb and cut perfectly. Our second order was frozen in the center, not cut as well, and tasted a bit old/overly fishy(nothing like the first order. Also, the crispy rice with tuna was nothing like it was when Hara made it, there crispy rice was over fried and hard to chew. The rolls were all very good

Now under new management and a new name - Drunken Fish. The sushi is fresh, generous and delicious! Pricing is very reasonable. This is now our go-to sushi restaurant! Dietary restrictions: They will accommodate changes for a gluten free diet and have tamari.

We love coming here and even more since the new ownership. They’ve improved the food tremendously. Sushi is very fresh highly recommend the West Coast and roll!

I order Hara for takeout regularly as I work nearby. It’s not super high end like Sugarfish or Nobu, but when you’re looking for fresh sushi at a reasonable price from a clean restaurant, Hara consistently meets my expectations. My order is always the same and simple and it’s always good.

I go here once a month. The fish isn’t the freshest or the fattiest but it’s decent for the price. I recommend getting the 3 item dinner bento box (California roll, Tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri) comes with salad and rice for $23 before tax and tip.
