This was our first visit and will be far from our last! I opted for the "Brown Bag" lunch special which was a choice of either pulled pork or brisket sandwich, a small side and a soda for $13 and my husband opted for brisket with a small side and I didn't see the price on his but I know our total bill was $30-ish. I am from TX and find it hard to find BBQ sauce that isn't as "vinagery" as some in the area. The sauce had a sweetness with a small heat and was perfect for me. The pickled red onion on the sandwich just put it over the top for me. I had collard greens for my side and I now no longer to make them for myself. They were perfect, to the point I went and asked them to thank whoevers recipe it was. It had a wonderful smokey heat that was heaven for me. My husband had baked beans but they had something I had never seen before, they were cooked with apple. I thought the taste was a bit too sweet but can see where others would enjoy the taste.
Casual laid-back experience for lunch with fantastic barbecue. I'm a huge fan of the barbecue chicken along with most of the side dishes. I don't eat a lot of red meat for health reasons so it's really nice to be able to enjoy some authentic barbecue in the form of chicken. Love the pickled onions and pickles as well as the Alabama style white sauce that it's served with. Friendly staff and at the counter style ordering mean that you can get in and out pretty quickly for lunch.
You are going to leave full! And you will leave smelling of BBQ!! Both great things. I have personally had turkey and pulled pork and both have been moist and delicious. Spice on point. The sides are generous. For example, a side of, let's say, potato salad is about two cups. If you go with a group, staff is efficient at getting your food, and there are tables that sit up to 8 and you can easily add on tables for more. We had a working lunch meeting with several (10) staff and it was a good spot for all of us at once. Ambiance without a lot of loud noises too so we could discuss things easily.
Insanely delicious BBQ. Get in line and go for the gold.
I liked the set up that you order when you walk in, and then the food came out very fast! My only issue was the food wasn’t very flavorful. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, nothing special. And Mac and cheese which was very bland. Nothing was bad just not the flavors I would expect from a bbq place.
I am always down for some gooood BBQ, when I heard of Handsome Devil I was down to give it a try! Upon arriving the smell outside was delicious I could bit the air!! How to order was a little tricky especially for it to be my first time there. The set up was Order meats here and then order more meats and sides with the cashier..interesting set up! Now to the foood: we had the Mac and cheese which I would give a 5/10. It wasn’t a baked style of Mac and it had no flavor, not my cup of tea! The ribs I would give a 7/10, felt like I got the end of the rack. 6 bones for $18 was a bit muchhh. The collard greens were a 10/10 they were soooo good, and they were cooked in a pork shoulder they were delicious, they are definitely a must get! The brisket was 9/10 it was really good. I also heard the potato salad , Brisket Burger, Thai Chili Cauliflower and Chocolate Cake was also a 10/10. Overall good restaurant. Customer service was great, even though we didn’t know exactly what to get or how to order the employees were patient and nice!! Would go back again to try more!
Wandered into Handsome Devil before a show for dinner and so glad we did. Hands down the BEST BBQ I have had!
It was great Kid-friendliness: It was amazing!
Always consistently delicious! Special burger Fridays are my favorite.
