Hampton Manor

This is a 5 star luxury hotel where you can expect a true 5 star luxury experience. You'll love it, its a rare experience to stay here. Rather than detail all of the wonderful things about this place I will outline suggestions for improvement for management and guests to be aware of. The Robert Peel Room Wonderful room (all of the rooms seem to be wonderful and large) but close to the top of the stairs and so can be subject to noise. Also the bed is terrible. You'll see a lot of reviews about how comfy the beds are - it seems to me that this either doesn't include the Robert Peel room OR people use the word "comfy" to describe "soft". The bed is certainly soft but the problem is that is is not flat. There is a big hump in the middle and sinks on either side leaving a bad back. Lighting is poor (eg for doing make up etc) but if you open all of the curtains you get great views The Sarah Ireland Room This is a very special room. You'll love it but its expensive. Just to note: Once a day for maybe an hour or 2 the heating would go off on the towel racks and on the room heaters. But it didn't bother us and the room was a good temperature even in rainy 10 degree weather outside. The bed was better....but after 4 nights it started to become a back problem. The mattress needs to be turned over. Although the room is on the way to many other rooms (and hence you hear foot traffic go by) it is surprisingly private. This is quite a dark room. Outside of that it is awesome Breakfast is awesome The 2 restaurants are outstanding. One note to guests - room service is awesome. We don't like room service so we put the sign out to say we don't want it and then at night we took the sign away and headed out to dinner - and when we got back the bed was made and we had fresh towels etc etc etc. So apparently they do room servicing day and night Its close to the airport - which is awesome but also impacted by noise.

We booked to stay at Hampton manor on our wedding night and the night after, we have been trying for months to make contact with Hampton manor and have been ignored via email and the phone is never answered. Incredibly upsetting and disappointing, especially as it’s our wedding night and we were so excited to go to Hampton Manor.

My review is based on an attempt at booking a room, I have not stayed at the hotel. We wanted to bring our well behaved 7kg dog with us (notably one of us is a veterinary surgeon) and were emailed a 'dog waiver' which essentially confines your pet to a crate in your own room and absolutely no where else in the hotel. Dogs are forbidden in almost every area of the estate and features multiple threats of additional costs and 'immediate removal'. I question why they don't just ban dogs altogether to avoid being a pet accepting, but highly dog 'unfriendly' hotel as a terrible compromise. We would have left the dog with friends and happily gone alone if they were formally not allowed, but we won't go at all pet or otherwise when their welcome reads so aggressively and arrogant.

This is a beautiful hotel set in beautiful grounds and absolutely worth a visit.

Rooms: The room was amazing. Everytime we left, house keeping had been to tidy up. So spacious and comfy Food & drinks: The food is amazing. Bit disappointed that the bar food stops at 9 but we're turned away around 8.20.

What a ridiculous place run by an absolutely greedy team. We booked a room through a travel site, and I called them to book dinner at one of their restaurants. They were both fully booked with reservations from non-residents. Even the restaurant counters were fully booked. However, they were happy to sell you a £500+ room per night, but you are expected to have a packet of crisps at the bar!
