Literally the best donut shop in town

I visited Hammer donuts when I first moved to Lafayette. I had saved it on Google maps and was really looking forward to a visit. Unfortunately, my first visit to the shop didn't go well and the employee was impatient and when asked simple questions about the ingredients and the flavor of the day and when those would be available, he gave curt responses. I thought maybe I had come into the store too close to closing and he was just tired. However, I checked after leaving and there were still a few hours to closing. There were no other customers either. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and made it out to him having a bad day. If things had gone differently, I might have been a frequent customer but you know what they say about first impressions. I peek into the store to see who is behind the counter before I go in now. I did revisit afterwards and was happy to see someone else behind the register who was much friendlier. It was a pleasant experience.

If you like donuts for an outrageous price, hammer is the place to hammer you. Crazy price for donuts!

Stick to the yeasted doughnuts, Glazing too heavy and too sweet, which may not register as a problem for many....

I won a free dozen from their hump day giveaway and they’re some of the best donuts I’ve ever had!! They have an amazing selection of donuts and it’s a very cute place!! Kid-friendliness: It’s a great little cozy place to take kids
