Good food, staff and atmosphere! I had the steak and crab legs and it was awesome. The strawberry shortcake was delicious. Dont go there looking for a super cheap meal but if quality is your concern this is the spot!

Great food in a fun, funky environment. I had the brie and bacon omelet, which was excellent. The room is pretty noisy but that adds to the fun atmosphere. Who knew there were that many parrot themed items out there.

Half Shelf is our go to when in doubt. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is fun. The only thing I did not like: I left a 20% gratuity on top of an arbitrary 18% gratuity charged to me and that I did not notice, therefore leaving a 38% tip at a dinner for 2 at the bar. Of course, shame on me for not checking my bill closely, but I also think that the bartender should have warned me of this arbitrary charge. And I say arbitrary because I always thought that tipping and the amount tipped was optional not mandatory.

About nine colleagues and myself frequented this establishment today. Upon arrival we were seated in the back after placing our orders my colleagues and I started looking around and realized that we were placed in the employee break room with the Christmas supplies. The room was very cold( I kept my coat on the hour we were there.I’m not want to throw the race card around,but I realize we were the only Black people in the restaurant, the server was terrible although she made sure I drinks were filled. She was very rude telling one of my colleagues you could take the plate when she brought her some dressing. It gave colored only vibes. One of my colleagues got up to inquire as to why we were sitting in a break room, and we were told that that was the only place that we could be seated and be seen by the same server. We never asked for that server, but she did appear to be the only black server and the restaurant. I’ll never go there again the experience was terrible.

Had Sunday brunch. Loved the food. My mimosa was served separately, orange juice and a bottle of champagne. Very nice touch. Tim, the server, is pompous and self important. Not really interested to please the customer. The restaurant is lovely but a bit too cool for winter. We will be back next time we come through Memphis.
