Great space, tasty beers and super friendly team. Coolest bar server in hackney. Food smelled wonderful too

We had a booking on a Saturday at noon for lunch. Not too busy at the start, but as time went on this place started to get busy. The food was delicious and as were the craft brews. The lager had a great subtle citrus taste. Dogs are welcome.

I tried to Sunday roast and if I have to be honest - I am not a big Sunday roast fan but this one was one of the very good ones! I will definitely return! If you are a group of 4 - go for the sharing one! P.s. it’s a it cold I sore but nevertheless you are in a brewery

No-frills brewery, already packed at 6.30pm on Thursday (dog-friendly, lots of runners too). Big food plates, dessert is expensive because the portion is enough for 2 people. Prompt and friendly service. Unfortunately a let down in terms of flavours: savoury plates lacked seasoning and fried chicken was too greasy; cake was the surprise with juicy sponge.

Margarita was pretty poor. But that’s on us for ordering that at a brewery, plenty of dogs which was cool. Honestly I wouldn’t have reviewed if they hadn’t had locked my family in the basement and would only release them for a 5 star review

Such a shame. Don’t believe the hype. This is some of the worst service I’ve ever received

It's taken me a while to write this post but I've decided it's worth doing in case it's useful to others. My wife and I decided to host our wedding reception at Hackney Church Brew Co. last November. The communication with us in the run-up was poor and the internal communication between the bar and the kitchen could be improved. They say they are a wedding venue but in so much of our correspondence their excuse is that "they aren't a wedding venue" when things aren't going to plan. My view is that either you are or you aren't but you certainly shouldn't be advertising as a wedding venue unless you are set up to do so. Things were only made worse on the actual day. Staff were drinking on the job and one of the guests overheard them talk about how the night before they had been drinking the wine we had stored with them. When my parents then went to collect the leftover booze the day after the wedding - knowing there was lots left over - it transpired it had all gone missing (aka staff had taken it). The event manager admitted as much and was willing to refund us for 10 bottles worth which didn't even cover a fraction of what we had spent. It had also been a very disappointing end to the evening when we had told our guests it was a 3am finish which was confirmed with the event manager in advance but which hadn't been communicated to the rest of his team and considering the event manager wasn't there for our big day it became a he said / she said scenario. It meant we ended the night on a sour note. The GM who was present for the occasion said he would look into it and that we should have a meeting but when I followed up a few days after to arrange I was ghosted and eventually fobbed off on to the event manager who wouldn't meet and just wanted to close the matter. All in all a really disappointing experience for us. What I would like to say though is that the chef Eliot and his team are brilliant and the food was absolutely delicious and they catered on the spot for last minute dietary requirements that hadn't been flagged. The venue itself is also stunning and looked very special on the day. The potential is there, they just need to make some changes to the way things are run. Unfortunately I know I'm not the only person to experience this and hope things are improved for the future.

Management is horrible . My friends and I spent 2 hours 30 minutes outside on two long benches full of people and All of a sudden several have been asked to move as a big booking was coming . However none of that was said to any of us before and a reservation was not mentioned at all anywhere on any of the tables that have been asked to move. Which is quite bad management and not really ok This would all be ok if the tables would have been marked as reserved but they were not . So yeah I think you should organise your space a bit better as that is ridiculous

If you’re looking for a top notch Sunday roast then look no further! This is an absolute must for anyone who is passionate about their meat and finding a place that cooks with great pride, care and professionalism. Located in a railway arch they have combined a top class kitchen with a microbrewery to deliver arguably one of London’s best Sunday lunches. The beef was cooked to perfection with crunchy roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Two slight negatives - a very limited wine list with no option for corkage and a single very rich and quite sugary pudding. Other than that, an outstanding trip across London for an absolute feast. We will definitely be back!

Disappointing Experience at Hackney Church Brew Co After eagerly anticipating our visit to Hackney Church Brew Co, fueled by glowing social media posts, my partner and I booked our table five weeks in advance. However, upon arrival, we were left underwhelmed. The lack of a greeting and the need to locate our reserved table ourselves set a disappointing tone for the evening. Opting for the Sunday menu, we ordered the beef and smoked chicken. While the dishes arrived well-presented, they were disappointingly lukewarm, with the beef proving to be rather chewy. Additionally, I had to retrieve a steak knife from the kitchen as I was provided with a regular knife. The accompanying vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and roast potatoes were commendable, yet the £30 price tag for my partner's smoked chicken seemed unjustifiable. Despite the appealing flavours, it felt exorbitantly priced for essentially half a chicken. To add to the dissatisfaction, the lack of clarity regarding portion sizes and options during the ordering process at the bar left us feeling misled. Had we known that for the same price, we could have enjoyed sides to feed three, we might have reconsidered our choices. In conclusion, while our visit to Hackney Church Brew Co was not without its merits, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The combination of mediocre service and inflated prices makes it unlikely that we'll return, especially when there are other establishments offering greater value for money. Our rating: 7.5/10.
