Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

I never leave reviews, outside of a good server, Alex, this place is a sub 3 star place. I’ve been to Gyu Kakus in 3 different states, and at both Chicago downtown locations. The food here was off, from the miso soup (water had a funk), Karage (half cold half warm, tasted like store bought freezer food), meat array (flavor oK, portions chopped up like dog food) and the desert (a carbonized s’mores). Find another place.

Food was great. But service needs some help. Everything was pretty slow even though it's not too busy there.

Good cuts of meat and marinated well. Service was pretty slow with a bit over half the tables in use.

Visited at the restaurant week. With the price ($42 a person), this is the best quality meat reataurant. I really love even appetizers and desserts. Thanks. I definitely will come again.

Need a better management for reservations. Had a 7:45 and they were running behind by almost 30 minute. Food and service was great. Our server was one of the sweetest people!
