Gyro Village

Tried for the 1st time, got a gyro. Found the seasoning in the meat, a bit lacking and too salty for my taste. May give it another try.

I stumbled upon this place while in the neighborhood and I was very impressed by the food. Great food and great service! Must try the bowls !

I ordered to go. Normally, if I see a restaurant that has no customers inside, waiting on orders or sitting for a meal, I get suspicious. This day, it was raining, so I took that into consideration. Still, it was Saturday and the only folks seated at the tables were workers on their phones, not eating. I ordered 2 gyros; lamb and chicken. They were the blandest, most tasteless gyros I have ever eaten. I ate the pita and the veggies. My husband agreed on the taste. It’s a no for us.

Chicken, lemon, orzo soup is always delicious and full of favor. Rice bowls are great there are many different combinations. Baklava is freshly baked to perfection. Truly delicious not overly sweet. Mosaka is great. Perfect balance of veggies and meat and sauce. My favorite Greek spot for delicious fresh true Greek food. Spinach pie is terrific. Service is always excellent. Staff is friendly.

True homemade Greek cuisine, even the baklava! Been dining in Queens for decades and this is the most wholesome authentic flavor of Greek cuisine since the 80s. The food is prepared with very low or almost no salt and this allows the flavors to come out and showcases the Chefs attention to quality. We were a group and ordered many items. Everyone at the table was amazed at the aromatic flavors and light home made touch. A must stop for anyone looking for Greek cuisine.

OK, maybe 5 stars is a bit much for a pizzeria-style table set-up. But the hustle, the food and customers coming and going, the staff calling to one another and best, the smell of food freshly prepared -- is its own kind of ambiance. Meanwhile, the spinach pie is the best I've ever had, and I order spinach pie whenever I can. Family friendly w a great kids' menu. Can't speak to the meats, but the vegetarian will be more than satisfied.
