So good!!! Just got lunch here and it’s the best gyro I’ve had in a while. The guy (owner I think) who made everything was super friendly and nice. Will definitely be back! Great prices too. I got a lamb gyro and it hit the spot.

I’ve been coming to Gyro Place for the last 7 years and I always make an effort to stop by for a double chicken gyro whenever I’m in the city. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and there is nothing better than getting to the saucy bottom of the pita for a legendary last bite. I was blown away by the lamb kofta on my last visit so I might have to change my usual order! What truly sets this place apart from the other neighboring food carts though is the owner Mohammed. Despite me not living in Portland and only visiting a few times a year he always remembers me and makes an effort to catch up while he’s slathering my gyro in extra spicy sauce. He’s incredibly hard working and has been through multiple relocations downtown and I’ve searched him out each time because of the relationship we’ve formed and his commitment to his craft. I can always count on Gyro Place for an inexpensive meal downtown that punches way above its price point in quality and taste, and it’s even better knowing that I’ll get to share a conversation with a great member of the food cart community. It’s the perfect spot to grab a quick bite before or after a Timbers game. Don’t miss this spot!

It has become difficult to find a good lunch deal at the downtown food carts post pandemic. Look no further! The lunch special Lamb Gyro, currently $6.95 is a steal. It is artfully assembled with plenty of tender lamb, crispy veg and just the right amount and distribution of sauces. The portion size is adequate for all but the most voracious eaters.
