Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar - Cambridge

Easily the best Cuban restaurant in the Boston area. Amazing dishes with tons of creativity, good drinks, charismatic staff. They are also a pretty large restaurant spanning two floors, so there is a good amount of space. The ambiance is definitely better on the main floor than in the bottom floor, so try to get a table on ground level.

Great food and wait staff. The front of the house was clumsy while seating us, but ultimately we were happy and would recommend a visit.

I got food poisoning here on Jan 14 and my wife got much worse poisoning than I did. They made us wait so long in between drinks the melted ice must have made us sick. Or it was the ceviche that took 45 minutes to come out. They also charged us for a sangria that we never got. I spoke with an employee on the phone and they said they would resolve it but I havent heard back. Maybe skip on this place. This is the email I sent the day after to gustazocubancafe but they never replied : Dear Gustazo's Kitchen Team I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to share some feedback regarding our recent dining experience at your Cambridge location. While the food tasted good, we encountered several issues that I believe warrant attention. Firstly, there were significant delays in receiving our drinks, and we noticed a series of missteps in service, particularly after the initial waiter made a mistake with our empanadas and ceviche order. The subsequent change of servers and the communication regarding the availability of certain items created some confusion. Moreover, our waiter appeared overwhelmed, and despite their efforts, we consistently found ourselves with empty drinks. To add to our concerns, we were charged for a sangria that we never received. Normally, we wouldn't be inclined to complain, but both my wife and I are currently experiencing stomach issues. She has it much worse than me and I believe either the ice or the puree is suspect. Given the circumstances, we felt it necessary to bring these issues to your attention. We hope that you can address these concerns to enhance the overall dining experience for your patrons. Our family has been here many many times and sadly this will be our last. We have someone in our family who is on a keto diet for medical reasons and our server informed us the chef mentioned this will be the only time she makes accommodations, and not to dxpect it in the future. We asked for the sauce to be removed from the chicharrón. Mind you this was the only thing on the menu he could eat without feeling like hes asking someone to completely change a dish. The service here is normally exceptional and we have never had an issue before. So if you have any dietary restrictions it’s probably easier to go elsewhere.

Get the ribs!

Crowded and it took over an hour for our first plate to come out. We told them about an allergy and they brought food out with the allergen in it. It was overall disappointing considering the positive things I had heard about Gustazo. Maybe it was an unlucky experience but I won’t be giving them a second chance

This was our third time here. The first two times we really enjoyed ourselves but this time none of the dishes were very delicious and the majority were way too salty. The servers seemed overwhelmed due to overseating. Slow service and low quality food has left us disappointed.
