Gumbo King

Some of the best cornbread we ever had and the service was excellent. Will definitely be going back.

One of the best experiences I’ve had in long time! The customer service was amazing our server Desiree was very very attentive and informative. The food was the real star of the show though I had the queens gumbo with crab and shrimp it was the best gumbo I’ve ever had including my grandmothers . My husband had the lobster with a delectable homemade Alfredo cause that was to die for! He also had catfish that came with 2 big fillets that were perfectly seasoned and crispy with the best Mac and yams I’ve ever had in my life. We will definitely be back and we’re bringing family!

Love this place! My boyfriend and I eat here every time we have to be in Sacramento. We keep meaning to try everything else but the gumbo is so good that we end up just getting the same thing every time since we don't get to come often. We also get the mac and cheese, red beans and rice, fried lobster, king crunch, and turkey greens every time. For cocktails we get the peachy princess and crown royal tea. The staff is always super friendly as well.

Despite busy Saturday the service was not good. Our food came very late -one order 2 hrs late and then items were mixed up and a few orders missing. I appreciate the chef trying to acknowledge situation but the service overall was poor. As for food the lobster was pretty good, ribb dinner tasty, yams true and greens fair, but the garlic noodles are greasy and not the best, the cabbage was salty and the cornbread was cold every time served (including when we were first seated) and we never received ordered drinks. Truly Im not sure I will return considering mixed feelings but if I do it will be by invite of someone else and I will not be ordering a few things for sure. Maybe it was an off day, idk, someone said the cooks very. Nevertheless it was a not so good experience. On the flip side the music was great In any event, it's black owned and I can't disappreciate that. In fact Im praying that things get better and comments are addressed to improve service ❤️

So I’ve been to this place multiple times and don’t get me wrong people who work here greet you Nicely. My problem is the unprofessional ways my food can be done and the servers take years to check on the food. Plus when I place to go orders something is always missing. So when I come back to the store they take years to give me my food that was missing so now my food is cold. I have multiple transactions made from this place I can show as proof. I refer people to this place and I spend money cause the plates are not cheap at all ……. I just hope the customer service changes. The food is good but I can’t enjoy it with bad customer service or my food ending up cold because they forgot my stuff.
