From California and went 3 weeks ago. Food was delicious
They are no longer Guadalupe's. They are now a Columbian food restaurant. Average priced for those who can afford it. To me, a bit over for a somewhat home cooked menu. But for those unfamiliar with South American cuisine it can be a treat.
**** Notice- business has been sold **** **** New owners have rebranded as La Chiva **** **** Now a Columbian food resto **** **** Have not yet gone **** I loved this place. It is the typical hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in a tiny strip mall. The cooking is good and tasty. It is owned by a married couple Reuben and Patty. I have been coming here for several years. I especially recommend the soft taco plate and the carne asada version. I also recommend the Steak Milanesa. Beer and wine only and a few wine cocktails. Parking in small lot or nearby street. Or take the Blue Line to the Wardlow Station and walk across Pacific Place to the resto.
This is a small location, but the food is delicious! It reminds me of my mother's restaurant from when she was alive, just much smaller.
It's okay if you're really hungry
I'm always a little leery about trying new Mexican but I'm house sitting and this was in their neighborhood. I am pleased to announce I was pleasantly surprised. It was already after 8 p.m. so I went inside to place my order to go. I was greeted by staff with a smile and they were all extremely friendly. I originally wanted chili Colorado but that's not on their menu. The gal that was serving me asked me what I liked and helped make some suggestions. They do have TWO versions of chili Verde... the original and one with tomatillo sauce. I opted for the original, which is actually more of a red sauce with green chili's in it. It was DELICIOUS! The rice and beans also very good. And I was not disappointed with the side of chips and salsa included in my meal... both tasted very fresh. They also have beer and I believe they make margaritas with agave. I'll definitely go back there when I'm in the area again. I would highly suggest you try it too. I also felt the price was very fair, I paid $14 for my meal with taxes included.
