Excellent beer. Good space. J Marleywine was delicious!
Popped in before our flight back home. Cool stop for sure. Tried a couple beers and shared some food. Happy we did馃槉
Stopped in for a burger and a beer with a buddy. The service was horrible. The food was slow coming out and clearly sat before it was delivered to our table. The burgers and fries were room temperature at best. Food was marginal, covered in salt. No utensils, went to the bathroom to grab napkins because the waitress was to busy to stop at our table with the 3 other people in the bar.
OK, so I have been to Grist in Highlands Ranch a bunch of times over the years and was there in December with family in town. I saw then that they now have their own kitchen on site. Fast-forward to this weekend, I finally got to read the menu and I was amazed at the selection of the food items. We had stopped by on our way from dinner for a few drinks. I think I got my wife hooked on the Crimson Crow that I also ordered. I have had this before and it is full body, favorable, and one of my favorite Red Amber Ales anywhere in town. I also love that it wasn't very crowded. A lot of "New" beer places in town seem to get the crowd and I'm not a crowd fan. Thanks for keeping the vibe low.
I have to say, I was underwhelmed. First, they do not do much marketing; I didn't even know it was there. Beers are OK. Nothing stands out. I would call them Extra Average. I felt the food was over priced for what we got. Nashville Chicken Mac & Cheese for $17? It's chicken and Mac & cheese... And my friend ordered a burger, and that's all he got. Just the sandwich... No sides. No fries, not even a bag of chips. Overall, there was nothing that made me want to come back.
So here is the thing. I have been to this place now three times. The first time for beer, the second for appetizers and beer and the third for lunch and beer. The beer is great! I cannot say enough about the beer! But the service and the food.... not so much. I ordered the chicken sandwich witch is supposed to be the best in highlands ranch and super spicy. It's neither. The appetizers actually never showed up so I cannot comment on them. Shea our server seemed to like her phone more than her tip, so I tipped accordingly. Won't go back for food. Too bad.
We love the Highlands Ranch location! Great atmosphere and we are enjoying the happy hour specials and new offerings of cocktails and wine!
