Went with my family to celebrate my sister’s birthday, the food was amazing and the portions were huge. Very beautiful interior and a wide selection of drinks to choose from. However, we didn’t tell the staff we were celebrating a birthday because we didn’t want the whole happy birthday thing but a server did see us pass a gift so he brought out a cookie with a candle and said “I see we’re celebrating something so this is for you”. Very thoughtful move but when we got the bill we noticed how they charged us for the cookie. The cookie was only $4 so not a huge deal but we didn’t ask for it so why would we be charged for it. It felt very sleezy and the place lost its charm after that. Other than that decent place, just make sure if they hand you anything you didn’t ask for that it won’t fall on you

On a winter evening, it felt great to walk into Gretel. The impressive bar and dark ambiance was warm and welcome. Large and open inside, my table was in a perfect location away from the front door yet close enough to the bar. Food was very good...particularly the mac and cheese...SO good! I took myself here on a solo date for an espresso martini, oysters, and a burger. ALL absolutely delicious. Also, the vibes are great, and the service was so considerate, even as I was just sitting, reading a book.

My 2nd time here. First time I had to try it out to see what the fuss was all about & tbh I wasn’t moved - good burger but not great,, hold your horses now, this 2nd visit here mane… that burger was on 100- every bite was sexy I can not lie- that pretzel/cheese combo also deadly & I can appreciate their fries serving size. Btw had a bite of that chicken sandwich & thatll prolly be my next order - thank you for the food

In love with this place, second time hear and I can't wait to come back. The mac and cheese is just so creamy and a must have. The soft pretzel was just for fun, but we could not stop digging in! Lovely for a nice night with friends or even a date night. Highly recommend
