you come here to eat dumplings and maybe some "fuzhou wontons" 扁肉 it doesn't need to be complicated.
It's where the locals eat
Ladies and gentlemen, today let’s talk about that “legendary” Fujian snack shop on Eighth Avenue. Half-cooked dumpling skins? Spoiled flat noodles? Oh, sounds like a gastronomic adventure! Despite the avalanche of negative reviews, this shop shines like an undying star in the culinary sky of Eighth Avenue. Some people even created Google accounts just to leave a bad review – talk about dedication! Does this place hold some secret charm? Perhaps locals have a special fondness for this “eat-and-run” cuisine. I’m oddly tempted to give it a try – though I might have to sprint to the nearest pharmacy afterwards. But hey, life’s all about taking risks and embracing challenges, right? Just don’t forget to pack enough stomach medicine!
Foods very good...the owner has a bit of a grump.
Wow, the sesame pancakes are really good. The dumplings literally are heaven. I’ve been going to this place since I was young. I’ve moved away and I’m no longer in New York sadly, but anytime I visit this is my go to. The fried rice is also super good, pork is my favorite. The prices are so affordable. The chicken noodle is very good too, but I don’t know if they have it anymore. Don’t even get me started on the peanut noodles. I’d kill for them. The service is fast, the atmosphere great and the food greater. If you are near 8th ave and want Chinese, don’t go to Great Dragon, which I think is on 9th but is very close. Go to Great Taste Dumpling instead.
I’ve been eating here since I was a little kid and now I’m going to college. The price has never changed since then. $3 for 8 dumplings is a great deal! They are not gourmet level but still taste great and warms the heart. I hope this place never shuts down.
Dumplings were cold and seems to had been sitting in the box for a while when I received them in the shop as there was a lot of moisture on the top of the take out box. Great news was the same night I had food poisoning after eating those dumplings. Eat at your own risk.
This place makes the best dumplings in all of Brooklyn, possibly the world....You get 8 giant pieces for only $3 dollars!!! And they taste amazing...Definitely worth trying, and if you don't like them, it's just three bucks u wastes, no big deal, lol...
