Gram Cafe & Pancakes Los Angeles

I have been craving the Japanese pancakes for a few months. Today, I decided I was going to commute 1 hour from Santa Clarita where I live and drive to Gram Cafe. I made sure I called beforehand to make sure that they were going to be open by the time I got there. I figured I would call 20 to 30 minutes beforehand to place my order over the phone. That way, when I arrived, my order would be ready. I did just that. A gentleman answered the phone and I told him that I wanted to place a phone order and he said , " Let me finish this drink and I'll take your order after." He placed me on hold, and finally, after waiting on hold for close to 7 minutes, I hung up. I decided to call back, and when I did, the gentleman had sent all calls to voicemail. I called back a total of 6 times, and there was no answer. I decided not to give them my business and drive back home. To the gentleman who did this to me, you should not be working in the service industry. This was a horrible experience. To the manager/ owner, I hope you read this and discipline your employee. I was going to place an order for 6 pancakes today. This was completely unnecessary and unacceptable. A very distasfied person. I can't even say customer because your employee never allowed me the opportunity to become a customer.

The food is average, not as good as the other one, the service is really bad, the worst experience you can imagine will all happen there, I ordered a tea, 6 dollar for only tea bag and water, it is leaking, and I have to reach out to the server to get an extra cup to avoid leaking, also I ordered a pancake, and waited for more than 40 mins, no service and no information, and then, when I reached out to the server again, they said it is ready in pick up areas, we are waiting desperately in the restaurant without any information of when it was ready, and then she said it was just ready, then so normal waiting is 40 mins? hmmm?no, that bag has been there for more than just now! what a nightmare experience!

I’ve had Gram Cafe in Tokyo and was so excited when I learned LA has a location now. I honestly came in with very low expectations because usually chains that expand overseas never taste as good as the country of origin. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well made the souffle pancake was! It’s so soft and fluffy. I highly recommend!!

Food tastes spoiled not good. Won't be back again
