The cornbread is awesome, just enough sweetness and jalapeños. Texture was perfect. The jumbo crabcake was also very good, softer than expected but flavorful, and the side of noodles with vegetables was very good. Parking: Down the side/back. Either valet or free garage available
Great food. Had the pork chop for brunch. Cooked well and seasoned to perfection!! Will definitely be back. Not to mention the mimosa swirl was an added bonus.
Great brunch with large servings. Nice brunch drink selection. Has a good lunch menu as well.
Nice cozy restaurant. We were seated immediately and waitstaff brought a bottle of cold water. The cornbread they serve as a preappetizer is amazing. We decided on the strawberry limonade which was very refreshing and tasty. For the main course we all had somehing different. All entrees came with soup or salad. I chose the chicken tortilla soup which had a wonderful flavor. Others of my party had the cesar salad. Which was rich and creamy. The meal itself was very good. Beef tips over rice were very tender and had a good flavor. The stuffed chickenbreast was very good. And you can never go wrong with chicken fried chicken. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable and courtious and attentative. The meals themselves appear a bit pricey but well worth it.
That cornbread tho!!! Good food. Great drinks. Pork chops and green beans last time. Everything was fire!! Saw the all the top HPD and Mayor Turner.... this time, I had the creole stuffed chicken with greens, mac, and yams. It was good, except I kept biting pieces of crab shells in the 'stuffing'...I didn't like that AT ALL. But, overall it was good.... and this time, Houston legend BunB held the door for us on the way out!! I'll be back!
Made the trek from North Texas to see the fam in Houston. While there, we hit up the Museum of Fine Arts and checked out some incredible exhibits – especially "Kehinde Wiley: An Archaeology of Silence" and "Multiplicity: Blackness in Contemporary American Collage." After a brain-melting art marathon, Grace's Restaurant was the perfect place to unwind and chat about what we saw. The place had a cool vibe and the food was even better. I started with the Sweet and Sour Calamari and Shrimp with Chinese broccoli and green tea soba noodles. It was a refreshing twist on the classic, with perfectly cooked seafood and a delicious sauce. For the main course, I went with the Sausage Stuffed Chicken Breast, served with candied yams, cornbread dressing, green beans, and collard greens. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the stuffing was a delightful combination of savory sausage and sweet cornbread. The whole dish felt like a warm hug from grandma's kitchen.
