Golden Moon Speakeasy

Used to dig this place - a lot actually. However, there’s been a shift to poor customer service and in addition, their menu - more batched cocktails and less craftmenship behind the bar. Sad to see. Still a cool little spot, and when they actually make the cocktails (with a decent attitude) instead of pouring them from a tap, it’s a fun experience. Stick the craft and bring the passion! If people are seeking out a distillery/speak easy, I promise they’re willing to wait a little extra for their drink to be made to order.

Band was great, drinks were decent, customer service was terrible. Bartenders did shots while we waiting a long time for shots, were difficult to track down, and would talk to regulars over helping customers. The place looks so nice, so an big disappointment on a "Speakeasy." Likely not coming back.

First and last time I'll be here. I stood at the bar and got totally dissed. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you." Yet both waitresses kept checking on customers that had been there for more than an hour. I sat down next to a party table and waitress again totally ignored me, but kept returning to check on party table. I'm tall, elegant and not hard to miss.

Beautiful cozy bar tucked away from the main drag. Had some great food and enjoyed a relaxing drink staring at the mountains.

This review is based off of customer service only, since we were unable to enjoy a drink. It was our first time visiting and we wanted to have an after-dinner drink before we headed home. The placard at the front said to seat yourself, which we did. A server greeted us with waters but didn’t say much else. We waited for a bit with our drinks picked out, unsure if we needed to order from the bar or if the server would be coming back. Finally a different server came over to us. We ordered our drinks, both of which were unavailable. That would have been helpful info to add to our greeting! Especially since both cocktails came from the top (seasonal winter) menu. So we tell the server we will come back to the bar to order drinks once we take another look. She says she will be back to our table in just a minute, so we say ok. She does not come back, many minutes pass. She is in deep conversation with what appears to be a regular. We leave after quite a while. Sad we didn’t get to experience this place. As a bartender myself, I was pretty disappointed with the service. Keep your regulars, sure. But you should always try to make new ones. I live near downtown Golden and would have loved to make this a new favorites. Best of luck.
