Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant

Walked in to grab a quick lunch, my partner tried to ask a question, the woman serving just walked by and didn’t respond. No hello, how are you, what can I get for you? Finally a gentleman behind the counter asked what we wanted, but the more questions asked about the specifics of the food, the more serious he looked. Had the Rasta pasta, that tastes nothing like Rasta pasta. $15 for such a mediocre portion, for something that doesn’t taste like it’s supposed to. It taste more like Alfredo pasta, was very oily. Also had a spinach patty, I do always enjoy the Pattie’s. And the women didn’t give me my change, I thought maybe she put it in the bag, but nope.

I have found that a lot of Caribbean restaurants don't have a clue what Caribbean flavor is anymore. We sometimes patronize them due to constraints on our time. Salt, sugar, and pepper are the predominant tastes that hit your tastebuds upon first bite. Not this establishment! I stopped by yesterday morning after work. The rain was coming down in buckets, and so cold. I just needed some porridge to warm my bones. I bought one cornmeal, and a tapioca pearls with peanuts. OMG...so freakin good. I threw out a large cornmeal porridge from another franchise because all I tasted was cornmeal, salt and sugar. The chef totally omitted the spices. This wasn't my first time at this franchise. It's not even close to my home, but I go there because I rarely ever get disappointed with their food. I said rarely because no restaurant (in my opinion) gets it right 100% of the time. When I cook at home, I don't get it right 100% of the time. Their food is delicious, and worth my trip! I find the staff to be courteous most of the time.The store is smaller than the others I've visited, so it's a "get your food and go" type of thing, save for a couple stools at the counter. It's clean, and I don't feel as if I'll end up in the ED after eating their food. I'd much prefer to cook at home, but I work long shifts. When I have to eat out I want my food to taste like I make it at home. That's why this is one of my go to restaurants.

The jerk chicken is very hard and no jerk taste, they sale old cakes, I wasted my money and threw that nasty food in the trash where it belongs

My experience was was horrible they closed the doors early it clearly says they close at 10pm I just wanted a beverage but they where so in a rush to go home smh I’m appalled Thursday 936 I’m writing this standing out side in the freezing cold when. The sign clearly says they close at 10 on Thursday I came from so far only to have my heart broken by people who don’t want to work there shift

$14 for a small Rasta pasta yeah I’ll never return to this location they are over priced !!!
