Golden Fung Wong Bakery Shop

I have been coming to this bakery since the 90’s. It is my favorite place to get wife cakes aka melon cakes. The prices went up since then. For $4 for five mini cakes, I will continue to buy them.

Good place for buying traditional Chinese cake . My favourite is lotus seed cake

The taste of their hopias remind me of the hopias sold at a Chinatown in Manila, Philippines! Will definitely come back at Golden Fung Wong! Highly recommend!

hands down, BEST black bean hopia. good balance, moist flakey, hint of Rose, medium sweet. I always come and get a box or 2 for my family to bring back to remote Illinois on holidays, its old school, classic chinatown flavor. There was a lost place from my childhood in Chicago Chinatown that hit the same perfect flavor spots on my tastebuds and brain. The bakery is a very basic NYC chinatown bakery

My go-to place for Chinese cookies and cakes. I usually buy the white sugar cake, which is made daily (come after 11am for this one). It’s moist and the texture is very soft and delicate, like clouds. Despite its name, the cake is actually not that sweet. It’s traditionally made from rice, so perfect for gluten-intolerant (though double-check it with the owner just in case). If you buy one, try to finish it asap. This cake has to be fresh otherwise it would have a sour taste

I came with big expectations but the mooncake was just okay. The service was fast and efficient though.
