My family and I were staying about 20 minutes from Goldees and I said “we have to go, they are the #1 bbq joint in all of Texas.” Needless to say there were no protests. The only thing that scared me was a long wait as I’ve heard the stories of folks queuing up in the early morning hours. With three children in tow we decided to take our chances. The dreary day seemed to work in our favor as it was only a 30 minute wait from standing in line to walking out with a bag full of BBQ to go. For meats we tried the brisket, pork ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Sides consisted of slaw, grits, and hash. We had to get the bread pudding for dessert as it’s only available on Sundays. The brisket was everything I thought it would be; tender and juicy with just the right amount of smoke. 100% the best brisket I’ve ever had. The pork ribs had just the right amount of sweetness to where my wife described them as “meat candy.” Again, the best I’ve ever had. The sausage was juicy with each and every bite. I wished I got another one as I finished the last bite. I appreciated every bit of smoke, cheddar, and jalapeño. Yet again, the best I’ve ever had. The sides were all fantastic complements to the meats. The bread pudding was a huge hit with everyone. Truly something you absolutely NEED to try (so good!!). Goldee’s #1 ranking is well deserved. From the kind folks who run the joint to the incredible food, I am glad my family and I got to experience the best BBQ in Texas. I don’t know how anything else will ever compare when we get back home. Thank you!
Not a knock but an honest review.. I've tried all the best bbq in Texas, Carolinas, St. Louis, KC, etc... maybe I'm wrong but I truly thought this place was very mid. Brisket was one of my favorites but did the ribs throw anyone else off? I took one bite and it had a distinct taste that I was not a fan of. The pitmasters were super awesome though. Can a man just have some mac and cheese with his bbq please? Banana pudding was top 3 best ive ever had in the country.
Fun place. Nicest workers and delicious bbq!
Amazing brisket and so was the banana pudding.
The brisket was great as expected. What I did not expect to see there, was the smoked pork belly. That was amazing! I've never had it like that before. For sides, the Cole Slaw was my favorite.
Amazing BBQ. I have been coming since 2020 and never had a bad experience. The hash is a must try
Turkey, sausage, pork belly, & bread were great. Potato salad and coleslaw were ok. Banana pudding was not very good. It tastes like cheap instant pudding.
Only downside were that the sides were just okay. But the meat and atmosphere more than make up for it.
The very best bbq in Texas for a reason! Staff is also very friendly and informative.
