Wasted $40 on potentially tainted food. The cook for the Saturday night service (12/2) was very passive aggressive and did not want to verbalize what he wanted us to do. When I walked up, I asked if I could get the food to-go. Instead of answering verbally, he pointed to the lines on the counter. There's no written directions anywhere, and he didn't actually say anything, so I just put the bowls between two lines. He re-oriented them in a specific way, (which didn't matter cause he put both bowls on the cooking circle thing at the same time). My husband came right after and all the did was point from the other side of the round griddle. Again, saying nothing, so I had to tell my husband to reorient and move the bowls down. When he started to cook my food, he took a pitcher from the sink that was constantly running hot water and dumped the full thing over the food (spilling some onto the floor along the way). I know some water is used to help cook the food, but not an ENTIRE pitcher of water. The food was drowning to the point that it was spilling off the round griddle. Also, you can't cook with hot water because the heat will potentially transfer contaminants to your food or drink. According to the EPA: "Hot water dissolves lead more quickly than cold water and is therefore more likely to contain greater amounts of lead. Never use water from the hot water tap for drinking, cooking, or making baby formula." When he finished "cooking", he grabbed a dine-in plate. I asked, "Oh, can I get it to go?" thinking he didn't hear me initially cause he had his Airpods on (he was very much on the phone with someone cause I could see and hear him talking under his mask). He nodded and gave me a "hold up" wave with his hand, put the food on the plate, then grabbed a to-go box and put the food from the plate into the to-go box. Mind you, I asked about wanting it to-go BEFORE he put the food on the plate. He put the food directly into the to-go box when he got to my husband's food. Why waste a plate and create more dishes? The food looked so blanched and white. I've never seen this food cooked like this before. I'm not an expert nor do I work in this type of place, but most of them will still have the same order of operation: separate noodles from veggies/meat, put noodles to the side, cook whatever is there with SOME water, plop the noodles back in, maybe add some teriyaki or bit more water to finish the cook, then plate. When it's done, there's usually a nice browning on the food as everything was cooked and caramelized with all the sauces added. Nope. We got two contaminated boxes of boiled veggies and maybe cooked meat. Me being an awkward person not wanting to cause a scene, I just paid for the two boxes and a soda then left. We Googled the hot water thing as we drove home. Unfortunately, I am immunocompromised, so I didn't feel comfortable eating the food. And I'd rather not go back to get it re-made since it'd be the same cook. The cashier was very nice and pleasant at least. I'm so sad and disappointed. We've come to this place plenty of times and never had any issues. The food and service has always been great. I'm not gonna point out what he looks like, but I'm hoping the management can maybe give him a bit of a refresher on food safety. EDIT: Just an FYI, it seems like this cook has been doing this since at least the beginning of this year according to a bunch of reviews in Yelp (you can look it up by searching for 'cook'). Unless all the cooks do this now. Guess we won't be coming back here anymore.

If you're seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure, look no further than Gobi. The moment you step inside, the rustic yet cozy ambiance transports you to the heart of Mongolia. The warm earthy tones and traditional decor create an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the dining experience. The service here is nothing short of exceptional. The staff's knowledge of Mongolian cuisine is impressive, and their recommendations are spot on. They go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, adding a personal touch that elevates the dining experience. And let's not forget the star of the show – the food! Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors. The ingredients are fresh, and the chef's skill is evident in every bite. Don't miss the Gobi Kung Pao Bowl, it's a true revelation of Mongolian culinary artistry.

This is the quintessential Mongolian BBQ experience. The food is great, but service is practically non-existent and the atmosphere is bare bones. The thing is, if you go to a Mongolian spot and expect anything else, I don't know what to say to you.

***(8.29.23 edit) PLEASE NOTE - this one was for the one on Tasman not Brokaw*** For one price (I think about $16) you get two bowls to load up your Mongolian BBQ favs (I like putting the meats in one bowl, the noodles in the other, and spread out the veggies between the two), fried won ton chips, egg drop soup, rice and even soft serve. It's not AYCE, but if you need more to eat, you may have a problem. The woman manager/owner helped us with the sauces and recommended and poured them over the bowl herself. It was a really pleasant experience. I will go again.

The food was great. You get to choose your meats, vegetables, noodles, and what type of flavors you want. Then watch the chef make the food for you. The price was reasonable for what you get. I will definitely come here again.
