So sorry to have to share this. First off, the young lady at the front counter who tried to help was very very kind, but was not able to save the situation. Afterwards, I gave her my contact info and asked that the owner or manager call me to discuss what went wrong and how it could have been better addressed. I even spoke to another person related to the business who came in before I left . I explained what happened and asked that someone call me I was not contacted. So I can only imagine, management/owner is not concerned about the matter, but they should be. I went to Go Greek to enjoy greek food, and introduce my brother and niece to what I thought would be a great greek food experience - not so much The place is more like adapted space from a chinese food take out. But that's okay, I figured we'd order "to go". We placed an order for three (plus a few "starters"), which included a lamb skewer platter and 2 gyro meat platters, all with lemon potatoes. We added 2 "Chicken Lemon" soup (1 large; 1 small), Spanakopita, and 1 extra Pita. After paying with a $100.00 gift card, I still had to pay w/ credit card a difference of $7.69. I thought that for the type of place, and from our order for 3 plus soup and spinach pie, it was a bit pricey, but hey as long as the possibility of the food being very good, I won't judge (yet). After waiting a while, like 10 minutes or so, the young lady came to us and said they had no lemon potatoes. After a bit of trying to figure out a solution, bc at least one of us didn't want french fries, we picked 1 fries and 2 starters (spicy feta, and roasted eggplant). Afterwards we realized that the starters are very small (the small "salsa sized" containers). It's not about price, but more about value, again what could we do, they had no lemon potatoes. We joked with the young lady about throwing in an extra pita (she did that, but did charge us $1.00 - ugh). After about another 10mins, the young lady and the cook were having a bit of what seemed to be a frustrating conversation, at the end of which she explained to me that they had no lamb skewers. At this point, I really wanted to just get a refund, but it was now late and we were hungry, and other options were closed or closing. She agreed to give me my dinner platter for free if I would have gyro (like my other two platters). Without other options, and with that accommodation, I agreed. For my inconvenience, she also gave me "dolmites" (stuffed grape leaves). Okay great right? Nope! Since I had paid w/ a gift card, the register system converted a $22.95 adjustment to a $4.48 refund. And at that point, while looking more closely at the original receipt, I noticed a $4.13 "delivery fee". She said it had something to do with the register and the take out category. I really was very patient, especially bc she was really trying to help, but she had no way to figure out how to fix the refund she intended to give me. For this reason, I looked at it "overall" as okay, but I really wanted a credit for no lemon potatoes, no lamb skewer, and all the delays and poor procedure for more quickly identifying what was not available. Okay, so my experience was bad bc we waited so long, and the food was not available, which made it hard to accept the higher than expected food pricing, and when we got home, we were missing Tzatziki sauce and the gyro meat was dry and mostly crumbs rather than juicy slices. So net net, for $100.00 I got: * 3 gyro platters (2 w/ french fries and 1 w/ very small eggplant and spicy feta), with no Tzatziki sauce. * 2 Lemon Chicken Soup * 4 Dolmites * 2 Spanakopita * 1 extra Pita Which adds up to $102.00 so I got what I paid for, but it was a messy way of getting there. Again, I think the young lady did the best she could do, and I had already put a cash tip of $10.00 in the jar (no regrets). However, management needs to address the register adjustments, the equitable customer accommodations, and most importantly, inventory management (lamb skewers + lemon potatoes) and quality control of the gyro slices
Consider this rather shocking experience before patronizing this establishment. On a busy Friday before Christmas weekend, my wife visited this restaurant at 5.45 PM for a pickup order. Despite the high traffic period, the person in charge appeared to be a young teenager, seemingly around 14 years old, handling incoming orders, phone calls, and customer interactions single-handedly. Our order was delayed, and we observed other customers voicing complaints about missing items. After a 20-minute wait, the teenager, clearly overwhelmed and near tears, informed my wife of an additional 10-minute delay. Upon inquiry, he mentioned being put in charge by his aunt. It's deeply concerning and unacceptable that a child of this age was left to manage a restaurant during one of the busiest times of the year. This not only shows a disregard for professional business management and food hygiene, but also raises serious questions about the emotional and psychological well-being of the child involved. Such immense responsibility, leading to visible distress, is inappropriate and potentially harmful for someone so young. The decision by the parents or guardians to allow this situation reflects a troubling lack of judgment regarding the responsibilities a 14-year-old should reasonably be expected to handle. The mother, father, aunt and the entire family should feel a deep sense of embarrassment that this occurred. I am inviting ownership of this establishment to leave their contact information so that we can talk about this experience. I commit to updating this review and potentially the score in case a conversation has taken place. To the kid; if you are reading this: this is in no way your fault.
