My mom said I should try this little bakery for fresh Chinese buns and other sweets. From the outside, it is small and unassuming. You can easily walk by and miss it. You have to know about it in order to find it. Having said that, their baked items are not too sweet yet are very good! All the buns are individually wrapped for convenience. They offer warm buns, too. Egg custards, sesame balls, etc. are in the counter display case. I tried several buns and even bought fresh baked raisin bread as I was enticed by the condensation inside the package! Lol. Everything tasted very fresh. I even steamed a leftover custard bun a few days later, and it still tasted amazing! The only items this place sucks at are the white and brown sugar cakes (so far). I tried the white sugar cake and don't recommend it at all. It takes a talented baker to make them. Only 1 or 2 places make phenomenal ones. Unfortunately, this place is not one of them! These are dense and flavorless. Update: the raisin bread is light and buttery but needs more raisins! Not worth the extra .75 cents compared to the plain bread. Feel kinda cheated. I highly recommend the cream bun, paper wrapped sponge cakes, and custard bun. Prices range from low to average.
Their frozen dumplings are the absolute best I’ve ever eaten in NYC. The buns are also really good, I usually get the meat bun and sesame bun.
Great take home items, frozen or fresh. Breakfast buns, fried dumplings, steamed " cheung fun " and " jook " as grandma used to make. Quick service.
They have so many varieties of frozen dumplings and buns, and they are all delicious! They even have ones that I have not found at other stores. I will definitely be making the trip to this bakery regularly to stock up. Bring cash!
The durian egg yolk snack was pretty tasty!
