Nice friendly staff. Food and service need to improve. The restaurant seems to be in a transition mode so I think in time it will get better!

This is by far the worst Lasagna I have ever had. It was one layer of pasta a meat sauce and a little mozzarella melted on top. This was more like soup. On top of the bad food. I placed an order to go and paid $2 more than the online menu indicates as well. When I brought this to their attention they said the online (advertised) price was wrong. Avoid this place if you enjoy Italian and good service. If I could give them negative stars I would!

So, I haven't posted in a bit, but I had to here because I was thoroughly disappointed. The food was decent, so that means they put forth some effort, but that's not the issue here. I've been here before when it was the Osteria. Bottom line, they should remove everything except the bar food. It's a bar now. It used to be nice and fancy, but the clientele and atmosphere rapidly declined. If you don't mind your waitress taking shots behind the bar instead of taking your order, then kudos. The risotto was undercooked and not finished. Trust me, I'm a French trained professional chef from old school Le Cordon Bleu (early classes of 2002). That school closed because they eventually cut the curriculum in half and doubled the tuition screwing future chefs out of a proper education. All the old French chefs took off too...cest la vie! But! I can't completely condemn this place because it is a pretty chill bar. I think the kitchen and dining room need to go. Pool tables or bigger games are in order here. I heard the other new place down south is the replacement Osteria. I'll let ya know what I think of that when/if I decide to go. I can't believe thousands of people have read my stuff on places to eat here in Austin. Maybe I should be a food critic and just give y'all the bare facts. Lots of places have shut down here, and new places have opened up (such is the biz). In general, I think the culinary world here in Austin has declined since I became a chef. Yet, there were some people in my classes that I would never hire to this day. It's like 4.0 GPA doctors and 2.0 GPA doctors... who are you gonna pick to save you?

Great food and portions were great. Had enough to take home. They were not stingy on the scallops with my order. I would go back again
