Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge

Looking for a calm night out? I came to Columbus on a work trip and only had a few evenings to explore the city. After being up and running all day, you’d hope to find a calm and soothing place to relax for the night. Thanks to God, that’s just what I found. As I opened the door, I noticed the stairs, only outlined by the dim lights that ran on each side of the walls. With every step down, I heard and saw less of the world behind me and began to walk into what I would call… “A Night in New Orleans.” I was way underdressed (hoodie & sweats), and came without a reservation, hoping I could snag a spot regardless. Thankfully, they had a spot at the bar, where I enjoyed a very nice platter of Hummus and a drink called “Caipirinha” that wasn’t even on the menu (props to the bartender). The music was great that night, the food service was amazing and the people there were so kind! If I’m ever back in Columbus, whether it’s raining or not, I’ll make sure to make my way back to Ginger Rabbit. And this time… I’ll wear a something nice. P.S. Jesus loves you!

Fun cocktails in a speakeasy setting with live jazz. You gotta go!

This place has a very cool vibe, great place for a date. It kind of feels like you’re in a jazz prohibition club. The drink menu has fun cocktails, but if none are to your liking then the bartender can make anything at your request. They have a VERY limited food menu, although very good. I do recommend eating before the show. The seating is very limited so try to make reservations earlier than later. I came earlier than the show time due to parking and time of day, and they would not let me enter even though there were open seats and I had a reservation for the show in ten minutes. They also only have two restrooms in there so finding a time to go between the other patrons can get stressful. With me not being well versed in jazz, I just went a random night and was not too much of a fan of the artist. Even with the neat atmosphere, a mediocre performer can ruin the vibe. When I went a lot of people were talking as well and the staff did nothing about it so it was hard to hear the performer too. I would definitely go back and give it another try with another performer. Parking: Parking on the street if you can find it or garage several blocks over. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: I did not notice an elevator, but the venue is down a flight of stairs.

This has become one of mine & my wife’s favorite places to be. The music is always exceptional, as is every drink we’ve tried and all of the snacks. We would come back twice a week, every week, if we could!

Nice time. Quaint, comfortable atmosphere. Celebrated wife's birthday. Her drink wasn't too her liking, but they quickly fixed it. Look forward to returning. Parking: Paid public parking garage down the street.

I loved the vibe and atmosphere. The band was amazing.
