Ginger Bistro in Cape Coral has been our go-to for Chinese food since they opened years ago! It has a really nice ambiance and absolutely the best Chinese food we have found anywhere. Typically the protein is the star feature of most restaurants and while the proteins served here are fabulous, the vegetables are the real standouts! They are so bright in color, beautiful, cooked to perfection and delicious! If u like vegetables, u will definitely want to take any leftovers (along with the proteins, of course) home in a to-go container. At most Chinese restaurants I notice that if there is protein left, it will get eaten or taken home, but not the brownish finely chopped little overcooked mushy vegetables thoroughly soaking in a sauce. On our most recent Monday evening visit, when my husband sitting across the booth from me went to get his credit card from his wallet to pay at the table, apparently all his cash fell out of his slimline wallet strap. We had no idea it had happened until I received a voicemail that same evening from a wonderful employee named Kim informing us that something had been left behind in our booth. By the time we listened to the vmail, we knew the restaurant was closed so I tried texting the number back as she had said it was her personal cell. I thanked her very much but shared that we had no idea what it was since I had already made sure I had my purse and my mother-in-law’s and my jackets and my husband had his wallet. I went on to describe the three of us and where we had been seated. She immediately replied back with such a friendly and fun, “So glad we found you!” and further revealed “it was a fair amount of cash”. I immediately thought, his wallet had appeared thinner than usual to me when I had looked at it in our closet, (since he was already in bed). She went on to tell us the money would be waiting for us on Wed in an envelope with his name on it and which manager would have access to it. I asked who found it and brought it to her attention and she said it was Mallory who was our lovely young server that night. Kudos to Mallory. No one would have known if she had pocketed it. But, she did not. We will be thanking her in person and with a token of our appreciation and admiration when we purposefully go back for another meal there this week or next. Well done and thank u so much to Mallory, Kim and Ginger Bistro. ❤️❤️❤️ If u have not, give Ginger Bistro Cape Coral a try!! U will not be disappointed in the food or the people - both are excellent! Where do I start ??? It’s been over half a year since the previous times I ordered & picked up myself from Ginger Bistro. I ordered today as the food in the past was always very nice. This time Uber Eats delivered. Sadly the food, except for one dish, was a total disappointment. 1) Roti with chicken & roti sauce: I’ve had fabulous rotis in the Caribbean, in Queens NYC at ethnic restaurants who specialize in roti. Ginger Bistro can call it roti; it is not. Their version of roti was a doughy greasy fluffy “something”; in the sauce on the side were tiny pieces of chicken, potato, etc; a total disappointment. 2) diced roast duck with golden raisins, egg & green onions: we had to search for the duck as the tiny maybe a dozen pieces were smaller than the raisins. A sad dish ! 3) Sesame chicken w/broccoli & jasmin rice: this was the one dish that was good, but not enough to save my opinion about Ginger Bistro. Not sure what happened to this place as it isn’t even a shadow of its former self. Another Cape Coral restaurant that isn’t worthy of any consideration!

We have eaten there many times and on a semi-regular basis order roast duck for take-out for special lunches at our spa. Never disappointed, the dim sum is great as well.

White wine was served warm in an ice bucket. Appetizers and meal were ordrered. Appetizers were served and 2 of the 3 meals were served. We reminded the waitress about the third order. She said it would be right out. The two meals were served and eaten, but no third meal. When questioned the waitress was disrespectful and flippant with no explanation of why the meal was not served in a timely manner. The restaurant made no effort to compensate or apologize for their mistake.mistake. The experience was very disappointing.

I have never experienced such a self righteous, rude waitress. She never served the third meal we ordered even after being reminded. She acted like it was our problem, never apologized and even when we spoke to the manager there was no “sorry” or offer of compensation. We eat out often and this was bad business at all levels. Too bad, because it was one of our hostesses favorite restaurants and none of us will ever be returning.

I have NEVER in 74 years not tipped a waitress until tonight. We visit ginger bistro once every two weeks from Xmas to May. We have highly recommended the restaurant to our friends and neighbors. The food has always been good and service adequate. Tonight four of us visited. We ordered apps and dinner as well as a bottle of white wine that was served warm. We did not complain. Our apps and two meals were served. The third meal was never served. We reminded our server once and she assured us it was coming. My guests were done their meals, but I still didn’t receive my order. The waitress’ response was that she would take the meal off the bill or she could pack it for take out. I felt that was an inadequate response bc there was no explanation of how this occurred. I asked that we take the meal home but it should not be added to the bill. The waitress explained that was not their policy. I spoke to the manager who agreed that the meal was prepared and sitting in the back but never served. She said it was against policy to give us the meal. I accept that but did expect some compensation or at the very least an apology. The waitress came back, and I tried to ask for some explanation. She repeatedly interrupted me and said I was yelling at her. I used a stern voice bc I was frustrated, but never yelled. Again I spoke with her and said the restaurant was loud and I just wanted to be heard. Not acknowledging any wrong doing, she replied, “Everyone makes mistakes,” implying that I yelled at her again. She was arrogant and rude and acted like my not receiving my meal was my problem. The restaurant accepted no responsibility for the mistake. Even an apology, rather than an attack, would have gone a long way to appease their mistake. I asked to speak to the manager again, but she did not come to the table. Unfortunately I will not be going back to GInger Bistro again.

I had been looking forward to visiting for a few years. If they were understaffed or very busy or right before closing, I would probably just let this go but that wasn't it. Nothing ruins good food/experience like an attitude from waitstaff.
