Gavino's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant (Bearden)

LOVE this place. Closest thing I've had to NY Pizza. I lived in NY for 50 years.

The antipasto salad was amazing but the garlic rolls where had a little bit to much oil for my taste.

The garlic cheese bread was the best garlic bread I'd ever had. Pizza was very good, too.

This really is one of my go to locations when I think of Italian food

We used to go to Gavinos all the time they changed the waitstaff several months ago and things have not been the same. About 4 months ago we went for pizza and no one greeted our table. After about 10 minutes we asked a server if we had a server and they gentleman said "you should." A little while after that someone came over to take our order. After this we took a break from going to Gavino's. Friday we decided to give it another shot, things had not changed I felt like I was in ground hogs day when the same exact thing happened. NO one greeted our table, we again had to ask for a server. We placed our order for pizza and a calzone and we waited 1:45 minutes for food to be delivered. It seemed as if no one wanted to even let us know what was going on. We asked to speak with a manger several times only to be told they were to busy. I have worked in many a restaurants and not one time when someone has asked for a manger were they ever told they were too busy to speak with a customer. It is clear that Gavino's does not care about their customers to no even have the decency to come over and apologize. We will not be returning.

Id give zero stars if I could. The girl who took our order was really rude. Big reason to not come back but the meatballs were so bad tasted like canned dog food and hero roll wasn't toasted. hardly cheese on it. Fries were cold and not good even reheated. A year ago this place was good not anymore.

It was so wonderful that when I got home from a work trip (which is when I 1st tried them) I just had to remake the baked tortellini for my family because it was so memorably delicious! I definitely will be back!
