Gatlin's BBQ

Dry, asked for wet with Fat 1/2 a pound wasted. Got two pieces with fat, the rest dry. Gave mixed !!!!!!! Meat was Luke warm. Waited 15 min. Cashier didn't tell the cutter what I wanted. Seem like she was bothered. Another customer had a order that was not ready. And was still there when I left. Dirty rice had no green onions and texture needed a lil oil. Temp was good and amount. I was recommended here. Can't recommend if your brisket is lacking and you give me old brisket or try to cheat the customer. Paid 14.95 which is high and receipts says mixed. Didn't ask for mixed !!

Ordered takeout for 40 - brisket, chicken, turkey , sausage, collard greens, potatao sa lad and smoked corn - all were excellent, as were the condiments and utensils. Couldn’t recommend Gatlins more highly!

Love that place!! Anytime I'm in Houston I try to get a bite to eat, great family restaurant!

Meal was so so. Mac and cheese did not taste like soul food. More like pasta wth cheese sauce poured over it and it wa s not not hot. They were out of collard greens. Candied sweets seemed to come from a can and not fresh. Smoked turkey was tasty. All in all i was not impressed.

We got alittle of everything and weren’t disappointed. The chicken wings were awesome to start with. I got the burger and my wife got brisket and ribs. Everything was done just right. We’ll definitely go back when we’re on that side of town! The service was good…we got there at an off time between lunch and supper so there’s wasn’t much of a line.

If you want to punish yourself and wait over 30 minutes (after ordering, not in line) for a single taco when there are only 4 other people in the restaurant (and then have to cancel the order anyway because it wasn't gonna come out any time soon), then this place may be right for you.. Otherwise, just save yourself the trouble and just go to Pinkerton's or Truth BBQ.
