Was in Chicago over the weekend and was surprised at how lackluster and overpriced this was for a shockingly average experience. The foie gras was disgusting, the shawarma was dry, and our waiter was in a terrible mood all night, just constantly scowling. Also, they tacked on $100+ junk fees onto the bill. Yes it is displayed on the menu and website, but it's just the restaurant being skeezy and cheap, and off loading it's expenses onto customers. And the scowling waitet still tried to pressure us into giving an additional tip on top of bogus "service fee", employee fee, and tax. Their forced "service fee" was the tip. I would not recommend this business, as it is a lackluster culinary experience, as well as needlessly overpriced. My tip for the restaurant, actually pay your staff so random customers aren't forced to subsidize the job that the employer is supposed to do. Just an overall negative experience here.
“Optional” fees added to bill. It not optional when you add it and require your customers to beg to remove it. Bad business practice. Put your costs in the food prices.
Too many added fees, all pre sales tax too. Double dipping at its worst. Definitely not worth the price.
What's this 4% tax on top of a 20% tip. I don't see it any other way than a forced 24% tip. Pay your workers a decent wage and fix your menus with the correct pricing. Should not have to ask to not have extra fees on a bill or have to take time out of my day to do it.
Dishonest business practices. Employee health insurance fee PLUS service charge.. just be transparent and add it to your prices instead of hiding it until the last minute in the final bill…!
This is 2024 and a restaurant with a Michelin star is advertising a 94 dollar menu when in reality it’s 24% more if you read the fine print. Take responsibility for your staff and your customers and advertise prices appropriately. I won’t be supporting this establishment again.
