Fuji Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Bar

Dined here once and won’t return due to the terrible customer service. Ordered the seafood donburi ($19) which the menu stated has mushrooms, egg, pickled ginger and pickled cucumber. The dish comes out looking whiter than an Eskimo in the Bahamas (no seasoning whatsoever ever), 4 shrimps, 2 small scallops, and one half shredded stick of faux crab, carrots and green onions. The dish was extremely bland, and was obviously missing some of the key components. We notified the waitress who then brought over the owner. I informed her that the dish was not good due to lack of seasoning and ingredients. She let me know that they don’t do the mushrooms or pickled ginger or cucumbers anymore. I asked why it was still on the menu and she replied that they just hadn’t switched it out yet. I set the plate to the side of the table and we requested the dish be removed from our bill since it wasn’t edible. I requested another miso soup and ate some of my kids chicken fried rice. The waitress brought the check where my dish was still listed at 50% discount. When my husband asked why it wasn’t removed the waitress informed us that the owner refused to remove it and only offered half off. I boxed up the dish and brought it home to re-fry it myself with seasonings. It’s hard to mess up fried rice, but they managed to do it.

Huntsville, AL Kitchen Cops recent findings-Fuji Japanese checks in with a 72. Inspectors found a box of rotten, brown and mushy broccoli that had to be tossed out. There were also two significant problems with the dishwasher. It couldn’t heat water any more than 87 degrees, and its sanitizer dispenser wasn’t working. There was also no soap or paper towels at the sink, and chicken, shrimp and butter at the wrong temperature.

After 11 years of eating here very often, I’m Sad to say we’ve eaten here for our last time. Our hibachi combo had 6 shrimp, and 6 bites of steak. Still, with sushi and drinks was $100. I’ll drive to decherd (check out Yamato) or go eat rock and roll sushi before I’ll ever eat here again. It’s going down hill rapidly.

My very favorite sushi place in Alabama! The food is always so fresh and well made. The lunch specials are incredible!I'm always looking forward to my next trip here.

The place is in a plaza and has good parking space available. The miso soup has rich flavor. The soft crab was mostly hard breading. The salmon was good. The atmosphere of the place was ok.

I cannot believe that this is supposed to be good. Other than sushi, majority of the rest of the menu is from the freezer or fridge. I lived in Japan several years and this stuff...is nothing similar at all. Vegetarian options: Not that much to Bragg about, can like flavor. Veggies aren't too fresh.

The inside wasn't the best, but the service was crazy fast. The staff were all super nice, and the food was affordable and great.

Good sushi! Really like the crunchy shrimp and the incredible roll! More fish in their rolls than I see at other places Good hot sake!
