Incredible experience at Frevo celebrating my brother's birthday – the service and ambiance was top notch, the food incredible. Chef Emiliano truly made our night special. One of the most intimate Michelin star dinners I've experienced. Arrive early to admire the incredible art in the gallery

I took my best friend there for her birthday. When you make a reservation, you have to pay upfront, and then again once you're there for any add-ons, which you pay separately. We ended up not drinking, so it was an alcohol-free night, just to give you some context. The entrance was like a little art gallery, giving off the vibe of a speakeasy, which was cute, and the hosts were efficient at getting us in, taking our jackets, and seating us. The ambiance was really nice, but my issue was with the food. Despite its aesthetic appeal, the taste was mediocre. Considering it's a Michelin-star restaurant, it fell short of expectations, which was disappointing. The bill ended up being over $1000 for two people, which was not worth it. As a foodie, I've been to many Michelin-starred restaurants that have exceeded expectations and weren't even as pricey. It's just disappointing when the food doesn't meet the standard. If you're there for the ambiance and Instagram-worthy photos, it's fine, but if you're a food enthusiast, you can find better Michelin-starred restaurants serving much better food.

Came for Valentine's Day celebration with my wife and it was our first time at this location and definitely won't be our last. Everyone made our experience so personable and the chefs all came to explain each dish and how to eat them. Definitely come if you want an Experience.

I went for my pregnant wife’s birthday and she could not eat half of the courses despite being reassured before I booked that they would make great substitutions to accommodate her pregnancy. The server asked us at the beginning if she wanted her courses seared or fully cooked and she responded fully cooked. The first bite had Ikura, when I asked if it was safe they responded that it was smoked . After the tuna we received was only seared, I asked the staff to fully cook her trout and ribeye but the trout came out medium and the ribeye cap medium rare (same as mine). There were no explanations of what steps were taken to make any of the dishes pregnancy safe other than in the cheese course. The octopus had chorizo and lard, which looked raw but would be safe if cooked… at that point we had lost trust in the staff so we didn’t even bother to ask or eat it. Everything was good on my end and the team did accommodate an allergy with some nice substitutions but unfortunately it was a terrible experience. Small changes would have made a big difference, like removing the ikura on the first bite or fully cooking the other dishes. Obviously we understand those changes to the dishes will make them taste not as good but they would still have been enjoyable (vs not being able to eat them at all). It would have also been helpful if the staff gave some explanations when bringing each dish.

Brazilian/Portuguese fine dining experience. I m glad I chose this place. It was magical. It was stunning. Amazing team work from top to bottom. It was open kitchen and that was something I really enjoyed. It was always interesting to witness everyone worked together as a team. Anyway I have to point it out that our server really listened. Navy terms, we call it "attention to details." Special occasion details were not provided when the reservation was made. Yet he figured out the special occasion and improvised accordingly. A surprising treat was served at the end of the dinner. It was like something you would see from a TV show. For the food, the tasting menu was a symphony. A roller coaster I would say. The transitions of the flavor from mild to strong and strong to mild were just beautiful. Bravo to the chef. Thoughtfulness was what it was. In my opinion, Some courses were Japanese culture influenced but reconstruted with Brazilian flavored and modern techniques. They were just amazing. Art within art. The collaboration with Toma-L, a renowned painter from France, was a brilliant ideal. It took the dining experience to a whole new level. It is subjective, but I think I had the best dining experience ever. I really enjoyed it.

Frevo continues to be our favorite restaurant in NYC. The attention to detail in the food and service is next level. The entire staff can explain the dishes in detail and are extremely knowledgable in which beverage to pair with each dish or a set of courses. The team Bernardo and Franco put together makes you feel at home which makes the meal even more enjoyable.
