I visited this frozen yogurt establishment with my partner, hoping for a pleasant evening and a post-dinner treat. However, our experience turned out to be far from pleasant. Upon checkout, I was asked to carry my dog, which I explained was indeed a service dog. To my surprise, the employee responded, "he's not even wearing a harness that says service dog”. It's important to note that while some service dogs may wear identification, it's not a legal requirement under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA only mandates that businesses can ask two specific questions: whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability and what specific tasks the dog has been trained to perform. Regardless, I hope the establishment can improve its understanding of ADA guidelines to ensure a more inclusive and respectful experience for all patrons with service animals. It's disheartening to report that I haven't encountered such an issue at any other establishment in the area. Most other places go above and beyond by even providing water bowls for dogs outside. The employee's attitude was off-putting and unprofessional, leaving us feeling unwelcome. As a result, we decided to take our yogurt to go. This experience was a blatant violation of our rights and a significant disappointment.
