I recently tried Fontina’s sandwich restaurant, as I like to support local independent businesses. However, my experience left much to be desired. Efficiency is key for me when it comes to dining out, and unfortunately, this place fell short in that department. My wife placed a Superbowl order the day before, expecting the restaurant to open at 11 am. However, upon arrival at 11, the door was still locked. Eventually let in at 11:15, she had to wait even longer for the order to be taken. When I went to pick up the sandwiches at the designated time, they weren't ready, leading to another wait. To make matters worse, two salads were missing from the order. Despite providing a detailed list and the correct dollar amount, the owner insisted on checking the computer, only to realize they he had indeed missed the salads. Overall, the experience was disorganized and the sandwiches, truthfully, weren't that good. Sadly, I won't be returning to Fontina's in the future.
Love this place!! Been a hidden gem for years. The bruschetta chicken sandwich is phenomenal
Service was great, people were friendly, food was hot, nice little spot for great food. Would definitely come back.
My siblings and I took my mother here for her birthday and it was amazing! We all loved the atmosphere and the excellent friendly service. The waiter explained the menu and offered options. The fresh homemade pasta tasted so delicious and the tomato sauce was so scrumptious. We all finished our plates and the wine is perfect a really great authentic Italian restaurant. Highly recommended to dinner in here and try it for yourself.
A hidden gem. Casual, personal dining. Good food, Italian beer. Must try. Parking: Plenty of parking. Trucks can figure out out for lunch. Wheelchair accessibility: No special accommodations but one floor with space and tables the can be used.
Last minute ,what a find! We look forward to coming back.
Wow! Seriously hungry rollin' down the road, taking in the Naperville holiday lights 14 days before Christmas on a nothing-is-open Monday night. What a nice surprise to swing into Fontina's. Friendly faces, generous service, super inclusive Italian menu, fair prices, amazing hearty home-cooked flavors across the board! And WHAT??--- the best HOMEMADE balsamic glaze ever!! Stop in for a bite folks. There is something savory here for every Italian cuisine lover in a comfy cozy atmosphere.
Fantastic. I’m sitting here eating fettuccine alfredo in their parking lot. It’s amazing!! I’m a first time customer looking for small Italian places in the area. I’ll be back!
